Sprint 005, day 8
Added 2020-01-15 19:53:19 +0000 UTC
Hey guys! Today's writing was much better. After a couple of days feeling stalled, today I felt back on track.
My plan for the sprint was to update the entire prototype. That's not likely to happen now, but now that I'm back in the groove, I feel like I can get it all done if I just extend the sprint by a few days...
...and I've got a feeling that that kind of thinking is the root cause of a lot of the game's slow delivery problems. So I'm going to stick to the plan and deliver what I've got tomorrow, even though it's going to be less than I envisaged.
I think it's going to take me a few sprints to get used to this way of working, but I promise to do my best. See you tomorrow.
I’m sure that you can do all this with updating the entire prototype. Good luck anyway!

TL;DR: Release as planned. You could continue writing and let someone else polish and test for the release.
I fully support sticking to the release plan, as long as the quality doesn't suffer much.
The premise is that the game is under development, therefore incomplete - so releasing less than you imagined is not that big a deal (I don't have a timeframe set for my tiny pledge - as long as you don't stall intentionally - and I suspect many are in my situation).
The business model where you've got customers willing to pay for a long time lessens an important constraint on your development. That leaves no excuse for poor quality.
It's also good to note that writer's block isn't something agile development methodology can deal with very well, so if you feel now is a good time to be writing do that (i.e. create a task for the next spring and work on that). I hope you can let someone else playtest and fix bugs.

1) Yes, that kind of thinking was exactly what turned previous sprints into marathons and you got told not to let it eat you again.
2) If that young lady feels the need for a massage from her scalp down to her fingers and toes or any subset of the areas along the way, I am willing to provide that.

Look at it like this. Release now, and you are set up to have a jump on the next sprint already.
