Sprint target: polish 1.4 Beta then release 1.4
Days worked: 12/20 | Pomodoros logged: 92
Task points completed: 62/168

I completed the "Failed Operator" path today.  Now your agent can go into the mission as a field agent, a desk jockey, or something in between.  :-)

Next dev day is tomorrow.  Have a great Friday night, everyone, I'll see you tomorrow!

Great idea, thanks Toad.

Thanks sbb0, that's helpful feedback.

Thanks for laying out the timeline more clearly! Also, please tag all of the major posts like December's Year One in Review. Patreon's posts are nearly impossible to navigate without the tags since they don't have a useful search feature within a creator's page (let's be honest, Patreon has the bare minimum of functionality). You post so frequently (which is 100% amazing and please don't stop) that searching for the major posts that feature your development roadmaps or planned functionality without the aid of tags can be very difficult. I'd also love to see more of the “Dev Diary” posts to give people a chance to weigh in on the direction of each major update. I’d love to see one Dev Diary per numeric update. For example, in regards to your plans for 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7, there might be a community consensus on which significant upgrade should get priority. Personally, I'd like 1.5 to focus on the Sex Engine Upgrade, 1.6 to focus on the Random NPC Generator, and 1.7 to do the Avatar Upgrade, but others may not agree. A simple poll could solve that, maybe all three options before you start 1.5, and then another poll for the remaining two options before starting 1.6. Anyway, thanks as usual for being so responsive and transparent about your development process.

Good link, I was looking for that post and couldn't find it earlier. I forgot that the roadmap had those extra stops planned prior to Bangkok. In regards to the writing, I personally don't know how you are playing that you can read throughout the present game in a few minutes. Is that because you've read certain passages before and can skip over them? Maybe you all are faster readers than me, but there's pages and pages of descriptive text for growing up, going to college, the kink vignettes, the CIA training scenarios, the mission briefing, the hypnosis, the mission training, and the game has varied text depending on what route you take. I can blast through the game right now because I've played it dozens and dozens of times, so I remember what was said and don't need to reread it, but me critiquing it for being "only 10 minutes" would be really unfair because I've read it all before. Starting from scratch? For me that read through would be many times longer than 10 minutes. But maybe that's just me. Personally I get Crush's interest in editing the text down. I think he falls into some of the same pitfalls I do of overwriting in general, which can be more engaging after some healthy editing. But I do understand your desire to see the game progress faster, I think we are all eager to get to Bangkok. I mean, apparently I'm so eager I thought it was the next update, lol

I'm with Enrico, if anything there needs to be more text, not less! The complete text of the game probably takes less than 10 minutes to read right now.

Hey guys, thanks for the discussion. For clarity: 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 are going to be Avatar Upgrade, Sex Engine Upgrade, and Random NPC Generator Upgrade (not necessarily in that order). 1.8 will be Bangkok. I'm hoping the new dev process will get us there faster. Enrico, I feel like my writing during the Lifepath is really flabby, and I want to take some time to make it leaner and pacier. During this time I'm also going to be adding polish to the scenes, like coding in avatar facial expressions and a few clothing changes, and modifying the structure of some sequences. I think a little polish will create some big improvements, but it's possible that I'm wrong. I rely on player feedback to help guide my dev decisions so I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, I will take them into account.

I meant that there's totally no need for it in my opinion, you can actually read throughout the whole present game in a few minutes. I honestly see it like a waste of precious time. And no, before the actual game can begin there are still 2 key parts to finish: the sex engine upgrade and the Improved random NPC generator. That's only about 3-4 dev days to improve sections of the game that probably won't be touched again for a long time after this release. I believe Crush said that 1.5 will see the agent arrive in Thailand and begin the main storyline. I'd rather have the setup finished rather than forever stuck in a "to-do someday" limbo.

32 pomodoros for the walls of text, really? Maybe it's just me, but that's almost the opposite of what I see like the real "problem" right now (lack of text/content in the last months and in the months to come due to the need to work on the framework of the game). Meh
