Sprint 002

In an effort to speed up development, I’m experimenting with the Scrum of One technique invented by Alex Andrews.

Scrum is built around “sprints”, which are 1-4 week bursts of effort aimed at achieving a defined goal.  The goal of Sprint 002 is to: Polish 1.4 Beta then release 1.4.

Today I identified the following tasks that need to be done before we can release 1.4:

Relationship Tables

Writing and structure

University

Avatar

SURPS

Total: 26 tasks, 168 pomos

I've tried to be less optimistic than usual when estimating the pomodoros required to complete each task.  If the above estimates are correct, we will release 1.4 on Monday 25th February.

A release sooner is possible, but it would require us doing things faster than I estimate (which has not historically been the case), or cutting things from this list.  Let me know what you think in the comments or on Discord.

I've started a new Trello board for you to keep track of the tasks as they're worked on and completed.  First dev day on this sprint is tomorrow.

I'm not a patron, have no computer skills, am not a native anglophone, so I can't help testing, programming or writing, so it's good to know that can still help out in a minuscule way. :-)

This is *intelligent analysis* – thank you. I will see how it goes, and also try and think more like this when I'm planning future sprints.

Crushstation

I'll definitely do that if possible.

could you make yourself a note when you release the game to the public if you could update femaleagentgame.com as well. Thanks

Another way would be to temporarily concentrate on some branches and (again, temporarily) close out others. Block access to desk jobs within the agency and only allow Operatives, for example. This way you could concentrate on certain branches to be fully fleshed out and bug-free, then work on other branches, and when those are ready, release an update

Would it be possible to do the relationship table improvements, bug fixes, and maybe the quick tasks first and release an improved beta version before completing the remaining tasks? That might help tide us over until the full release.

I follow the approach, take your time and deliver a round package. In this context, I would point out, if I count the days again a countdown, throw with cocky's after me.
