I started late, but had a really fun day today. I coded the passages where you set your agent's keep-fit technique at university: Star Athletes can join the track team (with a unique avatar outfit), others can join the gym or a running club (ditto), and cheerleaders might decide they're training enough. More options with new avatar outfits and skill packages (e.g. martial arts club, volleyball team, surf club for universities near beaches) will be added in future versions.
As with the university jobs, in the future we'll create Kink Vignettes for some of these choices – a girl on the track team who Likes Older Men might be able to have an affair with her coach; a gym bunny who is an Exhibitionist might develop a taste for skimpier and skimpier workout gear; etc.
Everyone learns yoga at this point. This is for story reasons – in our current designs for open world Bangkok, most days start with yoga practice on the hostel balcony. Again, there's a unique avatar outfit for the yoga scene.
This passage feeds into the third (of 5) Kink Vignette. Tomorrow I'll work on the next passage, which is where the agent chooses what extra-curricular hobbies she takes up at university. This will be an opportunity to individualise your character with some unusual, off-the-wall skills: these might (A) have gameplay applications in the main quest or in a side quest, or (B) be useful in establishing Rapport with random or scripted NPCs during the mission. Rapport is a new system we're working on that will make seduction, flirting and general NPC interaction more realistic and fun – more on it later.
