Thursday pomodoro report
Added 2018-05-03 20:15:47 +0000 UTCA pomodoro is a 25-minute block of focused work. I promised to do at least 10 per week when the first funding goal was reached.
Pomodoros I-IV
- Set up selectable skin tone artwork for the avatar.
Drawing different skin tones used to take ages; now, thanks to an Illustrator trick I learned from Victoria, we can now rapidly create new skin tone artwork with just one click (instead of hand drawing all the shading every time).
This is a first step towards having agents of different ethnicities in a future release. In the next release, you'll be able to select from a range of caucasian skin tones, each with a unique tan.

A lot of games with Character Creation simply do a tint rather than actual coloring, which means when you pick some tones it comes out a horrible fugly color. This actually reassures me so that when they put in other ethnicities we'll get actual dark skin tones rather than just 'really tan'.

2018-05-04 01:35:56 +0000 UTCHmm, if you did the silhouette of the body as an svg mask and the shading through a semi opaque layer, maybe it would be possible to change skincolor without the use of multiple assets but just by changing the hexcode with css? And if that works maybe it can be done for hair and eyes as well?
