Edit: 25th June 2025
It's here!
Hey all! Just a little update- the app is finished! I’m just putting the final touches on it. I will message you all if you’ve offered to test it for me with a link very soon. I’m really grateful to you for offering to be guinea pigs- this is my first real program that I’ve built for years. Originally I was going to get it digitally signed, but man that’s expensive! I was thinking like $100 tops but it’s like quadruple that. Anyways, I’ll be back soon with the actual download for you!
Hey everyone!
An app update for you- if you missed the first post, you can read it here.
I’m now looking for a few brave souls with beautifully chaotic Mods folders to help test my newest app: The Sims 4 Clean Launcher (working title). If your Mods folder has layers upon layers of buried scripts, duplicate packages, and mysterious .zip files you forgot to unzip… you might be exactly who I need.
This tool is designed to:
• 🔍 Scan for buried .ts4script files (you know, the ones five folders deep that don’t load properly)
• 🧼 Find duplicate .package files and help you clean them up
• 📦 Detect leftover .zip and archive files
• 🗃️ Backup your Mods, Saves & Tray folders to a zipped file
• 🚨 Flag missing required files for supported mods
• 📋 Give you a clear, no-nonsense overview of your mod setup
• 🗂️ Organize messy folders into neat categories with correct structure
• ⚡ Quick Check: spot and fix possible issues at a glance (including re-enabling script mods if your game settings disabled them)
Planned features:
• 📑 Read lastException files and give tailored advice (currently working on this, thanks to all the LEs you’ve sent me!
• 📥 Mod installer: drag-and-drop downloaded files into the app and it’ll install them in the correct location for you.
All in a tidy little interface—no coding, no mess, just click and go.
👉 If you’re willing to test it and send feedback (the app will create a report, which you can send me), leave a comment below or message me directly. Ideally looking for testers with large or messy Mods folders, especially if you’ve had trouble loading mods before. But anyone who’s willing to test it would be gratefully accepted. Windows only at the moment.
Thanks for helping me squash bugs and make this tool as helpful as possible!

Note: A few folks have mentioned PlumBuddy—mine isn’t as pretty (yet!), and it’s not trying to compete.
This tool is focused on troubleshooting rather than full mod management. The report function gives me a snapshot of your Mods folder layout and includes your most recent lastException file (if you have one), so I can help spot issues quickly.
