Lex's Wreck dive - Commission

Lex and Marcus are enjoying an memorable wreck-diving by the shores of North Carolina, around the sunken SS Mensajeros. The ship is still in good condition, and rests in relatively shallow waters; perfect site for a dive! Sometimes curious sharks do pop up, if kept in check, things are all fine ^^
So glad to see her popping up in pics and that I got to draw her again! ;w;
Was a bit of an experimental commission; initially I inked every single mineral deposit and fauna growing on the wreck's hull, but that was not only a true time sink, it also cluttered up the whole image too many details. I never really experimented with dynamic inking with atmosphere or depth in mind but this looked to be a perfect picture to try it! went ahead and re-inked the whole ship, but with distance in mind; the closer bits are more crisp and refined, while as we go further back, loosing details, leaving silhouettes only eventually.

Yasss! Absolutely! .o. <3 Other than not having the full bragging rights for inking every piece of rust on the far side of the hull, it works muuuch better in every way! ... focused, atmospheric, less unnecessary work overall ^^
