Cosplay Progress Updates & Pics for Katsucon: Part 2

I can't believe I'm leaving for Katsucon tomorrow!! 😰 I'm excited but also stressed because it's like a 12 hour drive for me and my friends to get there, and there will be very little sleep as well as lots of stress hoping my cosplays won't falling apart 😅 I also have quite a few photoshoots lined up for you guys, and will be bringing six cosplays. Since I finished Camie, Veronica and already have a Ciri cosplay, I just had to finish up armored Cinderella, Marnie, and fix up my Byleth cosplay. 

I made my first full breastplate armor piece and I'm so happy that it turned out looking decent! I wrapped my upper body in plastic wrap and painter's tape to make a cast, then used that cast to cut out the same shapes out of foam. I glued everything together with contact cement, and added worbla on the inside for added shape and durability.

For the rivets, I added jewel decals from the Dollar Store :> Then I just painted it silver and used some black oil paint to weather the armor piece.

I'm basing my armored Cinderella design off of Jessica Roh's, but adding a few little changes. I made a simple blue and silver sword to match my cosplay, instead of the lance in the original design. I made it out of insulation foam and worbla. Now both my sword and shield for her are done!

For Marnie's jacket, I just bought a plain faux leather jacket from the thrift store for an amazing deal of $5.99! Using it as a base, I added her pocket designs and all of the details, using foam and faux leather.

I am so angry with this wig! 😅 I ordered it from EZCosplay, expecting it to come decently styled. But when I got it, the most important piece (the grey/shaved looking side of her hair) was just a blob of grey hair. I am not very good at styling wigs, so thank you Marnie for having spiked pigtails with emo bangs, weird grey stripes on the back of your head, and a gear/crown pattern on the side of your head 😓 Let's hope it looks decent, because I'm shooting her with a very good photographer traveling from Taiwan and I don't want to look bad haha.

I finished Byleth a couple of months ago for EGLX, but a lot of the pieces needed to be altered or redone since I rushed the cosplay. I added the designs onto her black cape, and added more detail to the sleeves of her coat (the white dots are glue, I just have to clean those up).

I'm super proud of my black corset-y top for Byleth, because I'm not that great at sewing and it was the first very structured top I've made. I unstitched the pieces, cut out new ones, and altered it into a more hourglass-fitting shape. My first attempt for EGLX ended up a little too baggy for my liking, but I'm so much happier with it now! I also remade the grey undershirt to make it more figure flattering as well.
