Preview/Update 27/09/22

Howdy, all! I guess I owe y'all an explanation for my radio-silence over the last month. Have a gander at a little comedy I wrote earlier this week as a palate cleanser. 

So, I'll start by saying that I'm happy to report I do not have cancer in my ass. XD

Long-time supporters may recall me being unwell quite often over the last year or so. Well, when you're told 'it could be a tumour in your bowels' you tend to freak out a bit. Fortunately, as I stated earlier, my ass is cancer-free! Unfortunately, that means we don't know what the hell is wrong with me. We're operating on the assumption now that it's IBS that has just gone unnoticed for a very long time, due to the painkillers I take for my back, and I'm on a pretty heavy course of antibiotics. They're helping, and I gotta say, I didn't realise how bad things had gotten until I started getting better. Hoo boy. I'm not 100% yet, but damn do I feel much better. 

I mean, everything still hurts, the public health system is ignoring me, and now I gotta pull an exorbitant amount of money out of my cancer-free-ass to pay for a specialist to get all my meds sorted so they don't contribute to any problems in my butt, but, hey, I feel better and that's what matters most. Progress! 

So, yeah, I was somewhat distracted this month. I have been trying to get back into writing, though, even if it's only a little. I've been on-and-off working on some other stuff, as seen above, for the Self Insert, because this politicking chapter is quite heavy. It's all planned out, and even started, but it's... a lot. It's hard work, and I haven't really been up to it lately, if I'm honest. I'm still trying, though. I'm hopped up on a frankly ludicrous amount of painkillers and energy drinks right now, and I'm trying really hard to get as much done before the end of the month as I can. Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can squeeze out a draft in the next few days. I wouldn't hold my breath, but I'm trying. 

As for everything else, things are going... okay, I guess. My brother and I are settled into our new place, and we're as comfortable as we can be in a house with no air-conditioning in tropical Australia. I started playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 again, to try and distract myself while I was waiting for test results to come it. I had to start again lol. I totally forgot how to play the game. It's fun, though, and Nia remains best girl. I've also decided to enter a miniatures painting contest at my local hobby store this month. I'm not particularly confident, but nothing ventured nothing gained. 

Okay! Back to writing! I hope y'all are doing well, and thank you for being so patient with me during the shit of a year 2022 has been for me. I hope y'all are looking forward to some more goofy comedy once the heavy politics are done, because I'm having a lot of fun writing and planning both.
