Update/Preview 14/6/21

Morning, all! Have a look at the next chapter of Dark. Oh, and for future reference, Hakim is just the village elder of Raha. No one super duper important at this stage. Y’all didn’t miss something lol.

So, I got all excited yesterday and was like “Dark is done! I can send it to Rice, get a rush order, and relax!” Unfortunately, this is not the case. After careful consideration (fuck you Rice, how dare you do your job by making me think!) I need to delay this chapter by a few days. Basically, we’re moving the stuff with Sune/Henry and the ninjas to next chapter to focus more on the fallout of Raven and Dark!Ben getting their shit kicked in. So, rewrites and delays. No more than a week, I swear to god. Canon Self Insert shouldn’t be effected by this delay, because holy shit I cannot stop myself with this chapter. I may actually have to end up splitting it. I do apologise, though.

I also had wicked bad food poisoning last week and all weekend. You know when you just lose your appetite because everything is shooting right through you? Yeah. That, for a week. It was not a fun time. I’m honestly still not hungry; I’ve been forcing myself to eat at my regular meal times. I am through the worst of it, though, so fear not. Just pity my guts.

So, I watched a Spanish horror movie on the weekend called Veronica. It’s based on a true story, and had a real Exorcist-type vibe going on. It wasn’t bad, but I think I kinda over-exposed myself to horror lately, because I really didn’t find it particularly scary. I also finished reading Sons of Ellyrion, the second of Graham McNeill’s Warhammer High Elves duology of novels. At work, I’ve been reading it on my breaks, not during writing time lol. It wasn’t bad, actually. I find his writing style to be really stilted and uptight, but it actually really works for the elves. They’re actually pretty good stand-alone fantasy novels, too, that you can read with zero context to the rest of the Warhammer world’s lore. Defenders of Ulthuan and Sons of Ellyrion, recommended by your friendly neighbourhood Elf-fetishist! … y’all gotta know what I’m about by now.
