Preview/Update 79

Morning all! Have a sneak peek at Blazing Trinity ch10. Should be done in about a week, MinuteRice willing. After that I want to sit down and power through these silly little Three Houses shorts that have been bugging me. I swear I’ll get em done!

So, yeah, I totally forgot to post this yesterday. I done goofed. My bad. I was distracted because yesterday was actually my birthday, and according to long standing family tradition I had pizza and cake. It was great. Nice and simple, a quiet one. My brother got me some Warhammer and my mom bought me a new anime figure (to which, of course, my father scoffed and rolled his eyes. I think I may be getting tools for Christmas now lol). So yeah, it was a good time. A nice way to break up the lockdown blues.

I don’t know if it shows in the preview above, but I’ve been reading/listening to a lot of Tolkien again lately. Every time I do I have a bad habit of adopting some of his little stylistic quirks. I’m listening to an audiobook of The Silmarillion as I paint, which let’s be honest is the only way I’m getting through it at this stage. I love LotR, but a lot of Tolkien’s other works are just nowhere near as accessible. I also rewatched all the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies over the last week, and that sprawling sense of adventure, of a mighty journey, was kind of the nudge I needed to really power on with Blazing Trinity. Because really, the story of Blazing Blade is fairly similar.

I haven’t really got a lot else going on. Lockdown blues remain kept at bay with writing and painting and other hobby stuff. Seriously, if you’re feeling down over all this shit, pick up a paintbrush or something. It’s really therapeutic. I’m running out of models to paint now though, and I’ve ended up dipping into the multitude of ancient boxes in my brother’s pile of shame. I found some Lord of the Rings elf minis to paint, so I’ve been messing around with them and it’s hella cool. I need more Eldar, though. Gots ta have me mah space elves.
