I was afraid she would come off as just sadistic for the sake of it. Granted, she is not sympathetic yet by any means.

Rinari's turning into a giant water balloon, (hope she won't pop). It seems Gamo really cares with her sister and regrets hurting them. This is just confirms that she's the support beam that holds the whole family and kingdom together. She's the responsible one.
