drawing class is fun but i am unfortunately the fastest drawer in the class because i am also the most experienced one. oh well, it is what it is.
i need to get my hands on some nontoxic fixative, because all of these charcoal drawings basically only exist as these images i'm sharing with you. one of the reasons i'm not a fan of charcoal is one of its strengths: it smudges very easily. but this also means that when you close the drawing pad, the drawings get all smudged up. every one of these drawings was done knowing that it wouldn't exist at the end of the day, and that's not how i like to approach my drawings. i want everything to live forever and if it has to die, i don't want to watch it happen.
as far as ceramics class goes, using the pottery wheel is about as satisfying to use as it is annoying. some days it feels great to use, and some days it is military grade agita. this could in fact be because i got used to the wheel spinning clockwise instead of counter-clockwise, and didn't notice because it had been a week since the last time i used it.
anyways, as the cost of everything increases, my appreciation for my patron's generosity grows, like a freshly watered tariff. thank you all for your continued support.
