Seventeen 'CHEERS TO YOUTH' MV

Seventeen 'CHEERS TO YOUTH' MV

I'm sorry but I keep laughing at the part where the phone turns into a fish and he takes it to be repaired haha Just imagining that situation amuses me.

Britney

Hi Ben! This might be too long but I hope this helps. This is my own interpretation. Cheers to youth is like a reminder to be kinder to ourselves since it's our first time living this day/life. Woozi found the inspiration to make this song from Hoshi's words that's why he was shown at the last part of the mv. When they were on a tour, Hoshi made a mistake during ment and the members corrected him backstage, he apologized and said "I'm sorry, this is my first time living this life that's why". Based on the mv and theories I've read from carats, the members had their own struggles. Seungkwan was always anxious that even a phone call startles him, Jeonghan uses glasses that doesn't fit him (can be interpreted as trying hard to fit in), Joshua is always walking on eggshells and has low confidence, Woozi does not have the courage to go out (comfort zone), and DK had a pet rock and is pressured because of his studies and social expectations (there's a thing in korea that students who have a very hard time studying keep a pet rock because it's easier to manage, I've read this somewhere). In the end, they all broke free from these struggles. Seungkwan accepted his anxiety and moved forward with the members, Jeonghan threw his glasses and accepted himself (realized he doesn't need to fit in/doesn't need validation), Joshua realized that he's not alone and his colleagues support him, Woozi broke off from his comfort zone and met the old lady who gave him food, and DK threw the pet rock and freed himself from the expectations. Together they overcome their struggles. Thank you for reacting to seventeen! We hope to see more reactions from you. Welcome to the diamond life 🩵🩷💎

Ning Xi

While the song is upbeat but the message hitting my soul. Im crying at the same time

Ning Xi

The rock is Jeonhan's "pet" . The tiger is a representation of Hoshi because the song was inspire on something he said. The robot is Woozi because he's a homebody and never goes out.

MARIA FERNANDA SAENZ ARMENDARIZ

i sobbed when i first watched the music video and then when it showed the tiger at the end i cried even harder because woozi was inspired to write this song from something that hoshi said which was along the lines of "i'm sorry i make mistakes it's my first time living this life" and yeah that really hit me hard man. i absolutely love this song and i had the privilege of hearing it live on sunday night, it was amazing. best concert i've ever been to and it was my first kpop concert ever

You definitely got the gist of the songs right. I mean there is no definite answer but that's the crux of it. The only reason Hoshi is seen there because he was the reason for Woozi getting inspired for this song! Also BEN! NOW THAT U KNOW THESE SONGS. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE LIVE PERFORMANCE!

Omaima Akbar

Ben, read the lyrics subtitlesss!! You’ll get there 🤓

Thank you so much for this Ben!Will hope for another live performance reaction. Unit songs reverse/switches in Caratland are fun too🥰

krie basto

maybe for the next reaction, you should check out their new comeback, they've released two music video's LOVE, MONEY FAME and Eyes on you. For the rest of the b-sides there's 1 to 13. I would also recommend the sub- unit songs, candy, rain and water, but the live performances of them that you can find on seventeen's channel

This is my opinion about this MV. Each of them have their own mental struggle. Woozi who has problem to interact with people and always stay at home. Jeonghan said his problem was he can't see well eventho has tried so many different glasses as for maybe different sights in society. Dokyeom struggle with academic that he prefer to be living as a stone. Joshua feel like he's struggle, feel like he's different from everyone, feel like he can't blend well with people and stress with his work. Seungkwan is struggling with loneliness and depression, as he just lost his best friend irl, and he once mention about how he got lonely easily that is why he live with Jeonghan as a roommate. There's also an incident where Hoshi make a mistake so when the team scold him, he said that it's his first time living. So, Woozi wrote this song for Hoshi that was discourage. Tiny Issue Club where they all have issues and problem with themselves, which for Hoshi, he keep on saying he's a tiger so they included that in MV as this song is for Hoshi and also the way of saying Hoshi's problem is believe that he is a tiger.

explained it really well!!

Woozi make this song for Hoshi

Nuralya Syafiqah Rashidi

The tiger IS a reference to Hoshi bc the song is inspired by a line he said:" sorry it's my first time living today too."

Honestly, I think feeling reassured and at ease is a good summation of how the song makes a lot of people feel (myself being one of them). Of course, interpretation is up to the viewer, but I completely agree with you on feeling that way! It's like breath of fresh air when the world is overwhelming you and that is most welcome. Glad you enjoyed the song, Ben! :)

Urielange

Yes it's about how when you find your people, you can embrace your struggles in life through embracing each other. Hoshi tiger is there at the table in the end because him thinking he is a tiger is a "tiny issue" too but also because his saying "this is my first time living" during an argument with the group inspired the song, Woozi said. Love it!

jung

hey also do the SVT Guides

Chastine Casinillo

if i were to define the mv by a word, it would be acceptance

Seventeen “World “ mv my recommendation!!

Жания Сагындык

this has nothing to do to with jeonghans military enlistment because this is almost 6 months ago released lmao Here is my interpretation of the MV and each of their characters. Jeonghan - He thought there was a problem with his vision, hence he consulted a doctor. But the glasses made him see clearer but at the same time the negatives. He realized that he doesn't really need those glasses. I think it's about the pressure of having a perspective similar from others and trying to accept that it's okay to see it differently. Joshua- he was a meerkat at work. He keeps on peeking and looking around, probably yearning for belongingness or acknowledgement. Meerkats are known to be in groups, and get really sensitive with their environment. He then realizes that people appreciate him. He lent someone an umbrella and he received a gift as a token of gratitude. His coworkers also found him adorable like a meerkat bc he often looked around. Woozi- he was a recluse who never went out, similar to a hikkikomori. He was holdingn a puzzle piece that was only half of the missing pieces, probably to symbolize his view of himself not being enough to fit in. He got tired of food delivery, so he got a robot to do grocery shopping for him. He experienced the warmth of the elder woman who helped him. He gathered the courage to go outside and even gave flowers to the grandma. DK- was taking an exam, some ppl said it was for pre employment. He was struggling a lot to the point where he wrote he just wants to be a rock. There was a caption written on the pics he had saying that rocks go through hard times to become smoother and round. There was a also a pic that said, the rock was 1st place in spacing out. He probably found comfort in those messages. Seungkwan- he was anxious of phonecalls and always ignoring them. His phone turned into a fish which probably only shows that it isn't something he should be afraid of. He also gave more attention to it when it became a fish. You can see him practicing to press the receive call button using a bubble wrap, showing his efforts. All of these changes happened because they themselves took the initiative for self-help. The Tiny ISSUE club was like a support system for them share their troubles and help them get through it. Jeonghan said during his Weverse live that neither his nor DK's pet rocks (Dolijong and Dodol) were used in the MV...that someone else's rock was used. It also wasn't thrown away. I guess it was a STUNT rock! As for Seungkwan, someone suggested the phone became something that got him out of the house and active again. I've wondered if maybe his issue with the phone was a tip of the hat to Moonbin no longer calling him. I LOVED Woozi trying to finish a puzzle with a piece that didn't fit... like how he felt he didn't fit into society and thus his social anxiety in going out. Something else to point out are the notations on the polaroids (found on Twitter/X). SEUNGKWAN -I hope the day would come when my noisy alarm is less annoying' WoOZI - 'My friend who brought me out into the world' DK - 'With Dolkyeong (aka Dodol), who won first place in the idling contest. JOSHUA - "With the Shua-kat Club. This goes back to the SHUAKAT CLUB poster that said, " We love how you look at us. Keep looking around like a meerkat and we will support you whatsoever, Shua-kat! Apparently Joshua is a manager, because the note on the umbrella and cookies said, "Asst. Manager Joshua, thank you for lending me your umbrella...and thus the reason we see him standing in the rain at the beginning of the MV. JEONGHAN - 'Look directly at it, without glasses. Turns out he didn't need glasses at all, and once he took them off he saw everyone as the individuals they really are, not as a meerkat (did you see the REAL LIVE meerkat sitting in Jeonghan's lap?? He said it kept nipping at him!!), a phone screen, a rock or a phone. The T[iny]Issue Club flyer reads: Small Problems, Big Solutions! Yes, Hoshi was the inspiration for the song because he made a mistake on their concert and after everyone confronted him he said "Sorry it's my first time living today" Woozi got inspired by it and that's also the first line in the song. Jeonghan also said the tiger was included partly as a joke. Since it was the Tiny Issue Club and Hoshi thinks he's a tiger, THAT'S an issue!!
