Essentially, you must accept your pain and the darker parts of yourself (your shadow) in order to become fully whole as a person. They mention their shadow a lot here, but it sounds like they’re finally ready to accept it and to go through the pain necessary to become whole. Bring the pain, go insane to stay sane, etc.

This song and MV is soooo good!! I wish we could’ve seen idols reactions to this performance because it’s so 🔥🔥 all of the members looks so good, JK’s vocals just get better and better, and the choreo is so good! I know a lot of ARMYs that became an ARMY after this song! 💜

As far as I know there’s no one true “correct” interpretation of the MV. There are obviously a lot of references in it. In one of the behind videos Jimin was basically like, I have no clue what we’re doing here but army will figure it out, right? 😃 the kinetic manifesto film came out first on album release day. Then the mv a week later. But they were both filmed around the same time in California. The kinetic manifesto film was done at the sepulveda dam and the mv was filmed north of Los Angeles
