Jeri Harvey

Standing ovation right here NOW! He might be your bias but Seungmin’s lovely voice ……… 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

Kim Todd

So much power in Seungmin's voice you can get chills. So talented and cute asf

TC

I love your reaction. Seungmin's talent and hard work are amazing. I recommend Seungmin's recording of the OST "Phobia." Let's watch it together🤍 https://youtu.be/atTj1vHkuZo?feature=shared

ミィ リトル

So my bias is Han. I love his vocals and solo performances! I have to admit Seungmin blew my mind with this performance! His voice is amazingly beautiful. I’ve been listening multiple times a day and it just makes me feel happy! 🥰🐶 🎶 👼

Nicole Curcio

I was so happy watching your reaction bc he was like every minute saying HE IS MY BIAS I love it ahaha. And you might realize if you watch 2kr, 2kids show, one kids room all of them are actually really mature but still they're all goofy. Seungmin is still Seungmin that you know he is still goofy and savage. I love it so much that there are reactor who appreciates SEUNGMIN.

BK

I got emotional when I reacted to it… thank you for doing this Ben!

Kumu Leato S. Savini

Wait, Ben, I think I missed who your bias is. Did you say who it was?

Ciara

Perfectly stated! As someone who studied singing for years, i admire Seungmin’s discipline. I’m a Stay because I admire 3racha’s music as performed by Stray Kids. I was impressed from the professionalism of these performers. The Idol “game” is one part of the business but for Seungmin and others, it’s clear that the artistry of making music is as if not more important. I do wonder about the vocal longevity of everyone and am glad Seungmin is aware of how to take care of his instrument

MKG

PS - The reason Seungmin sounds "different" from the YouTube goofball we usually hear, is that "We" ... the media, the promotional campaigns, YouTube content, the fans etc., etc., have made him that goofball in creating and lapping up the "chaos" of the "Stray Kids" online persona. The fact is, Seungmin is an artist, and he always has been. He's performing and learning his art at the same time as the "forces that be" around him turn it into a "product", and thereby "money", as fast as they can. AND ... there's nothing wrong with that. Some of the members get along better with that than others. Mark my words: Felix will have a great acting career someday soon. He enjoys that side of things. But, Seungmin is completely wrapped up in expressing his art through singing. He's a million times more concerned with that than his image on TikTok. He's a serious artist, and so he ends up sounding different than the silly "menace" that JYPE would more likely prefer to present. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have to pull out some fingernails and put in some threats to get this "SongBy" series OK'd. <3

As an older, retired R&R vocalist, I find it incredible that, at his age, he realizes his voice will change and that it won't always be the same as it is today. This means he won't always be able to sing the songs like he does right now. This might be because he's been fortunate/unfortunate enough to grow up within a systemized teaching and coaching environment. Of course, in the late 60s through the mid-80s, we had nothing like that here in the States, without expensive private training, so basically everyone was on their own, and most of us made this discovery too late. In 2012, I did a "band reunion" show of my old band from the 70s and found I could still nail all of those high, blues-screamer notes as I used to, and it wasn't that hard, and it was fun. Scary but fun. But, I wouldn't try 2-4 sets a night, and certainly wouldn't try any of it now. Seungmin is wise beyond his years. It's a beautiful cover, by the way.

Steve Gaghagen

I believe Ben should watch you in my blurred memories -JYP nation😅 would love to see his reaction

Leeknowbiased

I agree

2minniev3rse

I think seungmin is Ben's bias 🤔

Danielle

He's so talented 🥺🥺

LadyApple#

Straight up cried listening to him talk about himself and sing. He's so amazing and sensitive. 🥹

Jeanne Le Mével

That rant at the end is the realest. 😭 I'm so glad there's a reactor who appreciates Seungmin for all the wonderful qualities that make him both a great singer and a wonderful person. That sees him beyond the fandom's simplified view of him as the savage puppy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy that part of him too but I also am so grateful when others see all his other facets - especially when he puts so much thought when showing them to the fans. What a lovely reaction video, Ben! It's always a joy to watch you fall in love all over again with Seungmin every time and I'm sure many can relate! lol

JayMongMong

First off I love this song so much, love Radioheads original and have always loved those falsetto notes. Seungmin put his own slant on it and it was beautiful ✨️Honestly, I teared up a little when Ben you described why Seungmin is your bias, bc I feel the exact same way about Han, for a mix of reasons. But seeing him talking about writing, producing, get excited about other artists, rappers or singing with passion, it genuinely changes my mood, lifts it totally. Something about how Ben got passionate about Seungmins talent reminded me of that and I'm honestly so grateful. I was having a crappy day until I watched Ben's reaction and it reminded me why watching Skz can be healing, silly as that might sound 💜

Ja-9 - Janine

Right?! 🥵

Sallie

Agree with all this 👏 That Hannie lip curl tho!🫠

Ja-9 - Janine

Idk he's being so vague about it might be any skz atp 🤔

Ana Sillig

He can sing a lullaby and make me cry with his voice so with this lyric and the words before the song now I’m a waterfall. My bias is Han but I understand why he is yours.

Matilde

I feel the same I keep repeating it : his voice can heal my soul 🩷🩷🩷

Mélanie

I absolutely love that song

MKG

This is my 4th time watching this episode and I love Seungmin’s rendition of this song. The emotions he pours into every song he sings is 🥹🥹🥹.

Stephie

This performance makes me so emotional

Monica Crump

Seungmin is Ben's bias but the rest of the SKZ members are his wreckers...they all wreck him one way or another🤣🤣🤣🤣

⛓️🥀RicanVirgoQueen🥀⛓️

I Love seungmin

merry

Hi Ben, have you heard the SKZ song The View? You should totally react to that one. Love watching your reactions.

Cristy Mace

I love your dedication to Seungmin. It really is beautiful. And a lot of us Seungie biases totally get what you’re saying about how his voice makes you feel. There really is something about him. I love listening to him talk and be introspective as well because Kim Seungmin is so insightful. He is very cerebral and we don’t see that as much in the funny videos and things. Seungmin is mature beyond his years deep down in his core and I love that Songby has given him an outlet to share his thoughts with us. Just makes me love him all the more. Thank you for loving our boys and our Minnie, Ben. I always enjoy reactions immensely. A highlight of the days I get long enough to get caught up. Thank you 🩶🫰🏼

Mia Lynn

I'm not sure about. I think it could be Felix 😂😂😂

Nic27

The hair is fabulous Ben BTW 😍

DivaViews

It amazes me when younglings discover the classics and find their meaning and understand the song the way it was meant to be. He is so insightful.

DivaViews

I think Seungmin is his bias

Ana Sillig

This is a beautiful assessment.

DivaViews

i love seungmin, when he speaks about how this voice might not be the same one he uses in the future, i understand it so much because so much of his mouth movements are still based around what he learnt with his braces, and even those small movements can change the sound of your pronunciation and voice

GeorginaMarie95

I'm going to share some insights here about the original song by Radiohead, that I think played a significant role in Seungmin choosing to perform it, especially given his comments prior to singing it. Thom, the original vocalist and composer, stated in interviews years ago that he wrote this song about battling with the pitfalls of fame. He used Evil Knievel, a famous motorcycle stuntman at the time, as a metaphor. Meaning fame is like the adrenaline of those dangerous motorcycle tricks, and you're one accident away from losing who you are. So, the song is about not letting fame destroy the things you hold most precious and the person you are inside. This relates to everything Seungmin said about holding to his own beliefs, his friendships from when he was young and how much they mean to him, and how happy he is having something just for him he looks forward to coming home to each day. The high of performing and receiving all of that love from fans is addicting, and a lot of celebrities before him have talked about the emptiness and loneliness of coming down from it. To think that Seungmin, at only 23 years old, has recognized the dangers of fame and relying too much on that love from fans is really astounding. I think ALL of the guys are very self aware in this way and they do a lot of self reflection and talking to one another, sharing their insights and troubles to achieve this. When I was his age, or even Chan's age, I was not NEARLY this mature or emotionally aware. Also, Seungmin's performance of this absolute classic is so heartfelt and deep! I love it so much!

Carysa Locke

Ive tagged Radiohead and Thom Yorke on Instagram whenever I see see edits of this performance as I'm sure loads of others have, but no response yet 😭 I love how his mouth moves when he's singing, it's so sexy (not as sexy as Han's lip curl, but nearly lol) As an aside, your hair is looking gorgeous, Ben 💯😍

Sallie

Just Beautiful 🩵

monu

Seungmin is such a rock star! Ugh it was so good. I hope he keeps this up, I love this Song By series, I cant wait to look back o it in the future and see how much he's improved even more.

holubova.minaSTAY97

Kim Seungmin the man you are ❤️

Ella-May Evans

He has always been known as the most ambitious and business minded, even from the beginning. This was an observation by the other members. I think he is finding that part of himself again. He can focus on his own music as well as Stray Kids. I absolutely love Seugmin's personal sound.

Camie Rabon

Dam be straight but shouting at seungmin like a lover 😂😘🫶🏼
