haha what is an update (5/24/2021)

Heya! Been a minute. This is pretty much to be expected of me at this point lmao

But anyways, hi. Big changes have been happening for Chublands behind the scenes, and I want to break these changes down and address what's going to be happening in the future here.

FIRST OF ALL; Chublands isn't Chublands anymore. It's Gijinka World! Chublands was never actually meant to be the final name. It was a placeholder that stuck far longer than I ever intended it to. The reason I finally buckled down and focused on rebranding the project is because I'm making sweeping changes to the fundamentals of the game as well.

The original intention was to create a 3D platformer revolving around character weight mechanics. However, the scope of the game and what I want to do with it have surpassed these boundaries, and instead focus is going to be placed on movement and transformations available in every area.

To clarify; weight MECHANICS are gone. However, I still intend on character weight having an impact on gameplay. I'll elaborate more what I mean in the future, but I'm not totally abandoning weight stuff for those concerned.

The game has been in development for nearly a year now, and it's changed a lot over that period of time. This is just another change I believe is for the better. As always, I'll be listening to any concerns or feedback you all have to share.

With these changes in mind, I want to be more transparent with how this Patreon is going to operate. I've received some criticism on how often I speak of updates without any meaningful gameplay additions, and I agree it's an issue. So from this point on, I'm going to be quieter than usual as I focus entirely on getting the project to a more playable state. Instead of speaking on plans, I want to show the results as they happen. The best place to keep track of what's being worked on is the Chublands Discord, and updates will eventually be migrated to a new server entirely.

On that note, I'm also considering clearing the slate and wiping the previous posts here and on my Twitter. If this does happen, there will be plenty of warning and I'll be providing a .zip with all my previous fat stuff for those interested in art preservation.

So tl;dr
- Chublands is being rebranded Gijinka World; more focus on character movement and abilities.
- Updates will continue to be infrequent, but with more meaningful content.
- The Chublands Discord will eventually be relegated to just fat stuff as a new server is made for the project.
- At some point in the future I may wipe all my previous works. They'll be uploaded in a .zip for those interested.

Yet again I thank you so much for supporting me. It's one of the only things keeping me going right now and I want to express that as much as I can.
