HelixFTW: Ezmir Pre-Release 2

Howdy everyone! Here it is: the next pre-release for Ezmir!

The primary focus of this update has been threefold:

1) Give Helix an expanded moveset.

Though Helix's moveset wasn't bad per say, it was very simple. Now, he's been given a few more moves to help him feel a little more fun to run around with. So, he now has a few new additions: a dash attack, a rolling attack, a second heavy attack, the ability to charge your heavy attacks, and more moves that flow into each other. Rolling and sprinting attacks, for example, now chain into a much quicker second light attack strike. Fully charged heavy attacks do more damage than uncharged. He still only has the two friendly interactions- petting and waving/offering- but additional friendly actions are probably unnecessary and would add way more work.

2) Give Ezmir an expanded moveset and make him more fun to fight with.

In his first release, Ezmir basically had the two attacks- a bite, and a second bite. Now, he's got a few attacks that work with his hops, and the tracking on his attacks have tuned up significantly. He's actually really quite fun to spar with now, and offers a significantly different challenge from Wolfo since his attacks can't be interrupted once they've started. We're really quite happy with where Ezmir is at now.

3) Implement a new vore state we wanted to play around with.

Ezmir has two new vore attacks, marked with a big ole' lick of his lips. They lead to a new state we've been calling "tug of vore/progressive vore state", in which you get to spend a significant amount of quality time in Ezmir's gullet. It's quite good. This introduces a few new things not seen with Wolfo; for one, stamina play is now far more important; spending too much time in Ezmir's mouth or gullet will slowly wear Helix out until he can't struggle anymore. These new states operate differently if Ezmir is friendly towards you or not as well!

This tug of vore system has definitely been the focus of the update, and as such there still isn't anything that goes beyond the first stomach. We'll be playing around with those ideas in the future update.

There is a suggestion on how to make vore more interesting. Add another location inside Ezmir. Let it be either deeper inside him, or add a "paw hold" when attacking, where he will play with you or immediately be able to slowly swallow you. In Helixftr, he had the opportunity to dig into the ground and catch the player with subsequent death, here you can implement a similar action. In general, there are many options for the development of Ezmir and its mechanics, but whether they will be developed or whether we will see new mechanics in a new opponent will be interesting. In any case, this is a huge progress for you, and I am happy to see how you are developing and what you have achieved. I'm looking forward to a new opponent who will have a lot of new vore mechanics and who is simply impossible to escape or fight against. Since the opponents are now at an average level, and if desired, if you take your time, they all pass without taking damage. I love your projects and look forward to even more interesting content and new mechanics from you.

Might be bugs, might be intended but two things that seemed unintentional (maybe?) 1st. The progress arrows for both up and down directions during Ezmir's gullet tug-of-vore stage don't seem to fill on clicking them. They shake to show they were clicked on, but the faint white progress doesn't show for them. 2nd. As the stamina drain when in Ezmir's mouth turns the bar closer to red to signify the drain, the "taunt" with suckling on Helix seems to add small amounts of stamina back when the drain is sufficiently powerful, instead of removing even more stamina. Minor things, but not sure if they were as you wanted them to be.

Big text wall review incoming. Sorry! In general this update is great across the board! The movelist additions for Helix and Ezmir elevated the combat far beyond what the flash -ftrs had, and the vore additions definitely have me excited for future updates. Some observations/feedback: Combat stuff: - More active and wiggly than before for sure! It definitely took a few tries to defeat him this time around. It feels like everything I said in my last post was addressed, and I like how he uses his side-hops to mix his approach or even counter you if you're just blindly attacking him. - The new radial tailspin works really really well. Quick enough to catch you trying to mash out strong attacks while behind him, turns him around quickly, gives just enough distance to reset combat positioning, but also just having enough start up that it doesn't feel like a free hit to you for trying to attack him out of his sight. - Speaking of resetting positioning, that new head bump/uppercut he does that knocks you back is a good addition. Annoying, but combat-wise good in a "hey! pay attention!" sort of way. - Only real nitpick-y suggestion I could make would be to give him some kind of option if you're loitering too long outside of attacking range during his coiled-up counter stance. Even just filler options like him leaving it, or lunging (or either for a mix-up) would work well here I feel. Not sure how it was for others here, but from my experience he stayed coiled until I moved in and tried to attack him. - Only real negative I can think of. I really like the new tug-of-vore system, but, from a combat perspective, the lead-in attack completely erasing your stamina feels like a bit much when combined with new gradual stamina regen degredation system, and the, already preset, direction escape degradation. It's probably a skill issue on my part, but it feels like if you're trying to just fight him and you get hit by the lead-in mouth hold attack then you're just guaranteed to get gulped. From a vore perspective? Yeah. Great. Do it. From a combat perspective though it feels like it makes stamina management a bit moot. I get that there is a lot of start up to the attack itself, but it still feels like a lot. - Also having a guaranteed escape/re-gulp stamina threshold on the combat side of things, since it feels a bit random at the moment when you escape the throat tug-of-vore or don't, but otherwise things seem pretty good (from my perspective at least). - It feels like his health was increased and, as a Monster Hunter guy, yeah, go for it, do it. Will happily fight Ezmir for at least 10-15 minutes. Vore/Friendly stuff: - Sort of like last time, not too much to say here. Generally like a lot of the additions, and am again looking forward to when we can go to his gut. - Throat play? Yes. Please. - Really like the new tug-of-vore system. I remember it being kinda played around with in the flash versions, and it's cool to see that it was brought here. It adds a layer of dynamism to the vore stuff and I'm really looking forward to what you both do with it, since it currently feels like it's in a good spot function-wise. - Only real vore-based nitpick-y observation I can make here is that it feels weird that we can't do anything in his mouth or throat while in friendly mode. Although I'm sure you both already have plans to add to/address that. Tldr: welcome changes here across the board and I'm excited to see what you both will do to build him further. Anyways that's all for now! Hope this was all helpful in some way. Wish you both the best and looking forward to the next update.
