Chapter 129: Stealing Captain America

"Avada Kedavra!"

George practiced the Killing Curse on a fish in a tank.

Under the guidance of the 16-year-old soul fragment of Voldemort, he had successfully mastered the dark magic he most desired: the Killing Curse.

However, practicing one of the Unforgivable Curses at Hogwarts was highly risky. If the ever-resourceful Dumbledore discovered it, George's cover would be blown.

While practicing ordinary dark magic at school posed little issue, the Unforgivable Curses were different. Using any of these three spells on a person would lead to immediate imprisonment in Azkaban.

Thus, George practiced primarily in the Marvel universe, where no one cared about his activities. He could train however he pleased.

A green flash of magical light struck the trout, instantly killing it.

"It seems like the soul was expelled," George mused, examining the lifeless fish in his hands.

The Killing Curse, also known as the Curse of Death or the Killing Spell, was fatal upon contact. Even Dumbledore himself would succumb to it.

When successfully cast, a bright green light shot from the wand, which trembled under the strain of the powerful magic. The spell produced a cacophony, as if the unseen specter of death was soaring through the air.

The victim died instantly, leaving no physical wounds behind.

To resist the Killing Curse, one had to physically evade it or use nearby objects to block it. Regular spells like Protego or the Patronus Charm were ineffective.

Through his research and practice, George concluded that the Killing Curse primarily targeted the soul, leading to the victim's death due to soul damage.

This made the curse not only effective against humans but also potent against spirits and other incorporeal entities.

Casting the Killing Curse required two main conditions: a sufficiently powerful magical reserve and an intense desire to kill while casting.

Frequent use of the curse, however, would deeply affect the caster's emotions, making them prone to violent and murderous tendencies—or even driving them insane.

After all, if your mind was constantly filled with killing intent, how could you remain unaffected?

For George, this wasn't a major concern.

Thanks to his formidable mental abilities, he could shield his psyche from the corrupting effects of the Killing Curse.

Of course, he didn't intend to rely on the curse often. There were countless ways to kill someone without resorting to it.

Still, mastering it was essential. The more tools a wizard had, the better they could handle various types of enemies.

After finishing his practice with the Unforgivable Curses, George left the combat simulation room and received a call from Black Widow.

"The CIA has withdrawn its pursuit of Professor X, and his assets have been unfrozen. Everything on your end at the school is also finalized.

I'll visit the school soon to process formal identification documents for your students to help them integrate into society."

"Great, thanks. But the students are at an amusement park with the professors today. How about coming tomorrow?" George suggested.

"Sure, tomorrow morning works."

Black Widow agreed without hesitation.

George then remembered something and added, "By the way, I might have a new teacher joining tomorrow. Could you help process an ID for them as well?"

"A new teacher? No problem," she replied, her tone curious but unintrusive.

After hanging up, George went to the underground hangar where the X-Jet was docked. Isa was already waiting for him.

"Let's go!"

The X-Jet cloaked itself and soared towards the Arctic.

Onboard, George activated a tracking spell.

"Reveal the location of Steve Rogers!"

Four hours later, George instructed Isa to stop the jet.

"Here's fine for now."

He leaped from the aircraft, spread his wings, and landed on a massive iceberg.

The tracking spell indicated that Captain America, Steve Rogers, was frozen beneath this very ice.

"Bombarda!"

Pointing at the iceberg, George cast an explosive spell, creating a large crater.

Seeing the progress, he repeatedly cast the spell. With his magical reserves, exhaustion wasn't a concern.

After twenty minutes of relentless bombardment, a frozen aircraft finally emerged.

"Diffindo!"

With a cutting spell, George sliced open an entryway large enough for two people.

He jumped into the plane and found Steve Rogers, frozen in the pilot's seat for over sixty years.

Taking out a magically-expanded box from his wardrobe space, George placed Captain America and his shield inside. Spreading his wings again, he returned to the X-Jet.

Ordinarily, placing an item enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm inside another such item would cause a spatial conflict, making infinite space exploits impossible.

However, George's wardrobe space functioned on a different principle.

While the Extension Charm expanded existing spaces, wardrobe magic created an entirely independent space.

By combining the strengths of both magics, George developed a versatile storage solution capable of carrying people, large amounts of supplies, and equipment without worrying about theft.

The X-Jet returned to the school by evening. Professor X and Wolverine had already returned from the amusement park with the students.

"Who's this guy?"

Wolverine asked, noticing George thawing out Captain America.

"That outfit, those looks—he sure resembles Captain America."

Before George could respond, Professor X answered, "It's Steve Rogers, the Captain America."

As a child of the 1930s, Professor X immediately recognized the iconic figure.

"Steve Rogers?" Wolverine scrutinized the frozen figure and nodded. "Yeah, it's him."
