A Problem with the Video, and Question for you.
Added 2021-09-23 09:53:52 +0000 UTCI have a little problem, I may not finish this video before the end of September. Things got a little out of hand in research and work, and the result is that the video is now 45 minutes long, rather than the 20 minutes I had promised. This means I and the team had to work more to finish it. And because of that, it is not likely that it will finish this month, but will probably finish in the first week of October.
My question for you is, can I make a paid post for September, and when the video is finished, make an unpaid post with the video in October? We did this one time before when one of the Mexico videos was delayed for a week. I would be very greatfull if you allowed me this. The paid post would include the video audio with music, but no visuals yet. If you want I can make a paid post with the audio and the already existing visuals.

Twice the work should equal twice the payment. I agree with 2 paid posts.
2021-09-24 13:32:57 +0000 UTCMy biggest motivation to be a Patron is because on Youtube there are incentives to simplify, shorten, and more rapidly and consistently release videos for both recommendation booms and monetization. So I want to support someone who makes videos that go beyond that standard despite the costs. Unless the time limit is specifically appealing to others involved in production, I would say to not worry too much about particular length over the history you wish to communicate.

2021-09-24 01:45:07 +0000 UTCI know you keep telling me and everyone else that you think you're "holding yourself to a higher standard" but not going monthly but Kraut, please, I beg of you, just do it. WE KNOW YOU ARE GOOD. You already DO hold yourself to a higher standard in terms of research, editing, oversight and art. You DESERVE to be properly compensated for it. If you only put out two videos a year I would still happily pay monthly because I know my money is going into something special which I can watch and rewatch for years to come.

2021-09-23 14:14:38 +0000 UTCJust do a monthly fee x and tell ppl you'll try to create y amounts of videos, but that circumstances can cause that number to go up or down a bit.

2021-09-23 14:12:56 +0000 UTCYou often structure your videos in chapters. You can always do a chapter 1-3 for one video and chapter 4-6 for a second video, and just come up with an intro and conclusion for each.
2021-09-23 13:51:45 +0000 UTCI am all for it. I just don't understand why the second post should be unpaid. I mean you are doing twice the work, aren't you?

2021-09-23 12:11:46 +0000 UTCIf I am honest I think you should prioritize paying yourself and the people who work with you over meeting artificial deadlines. If you are working you should be paid. It’s that simple in, at least in my mind. Even though the way you say it makes it seem like it sometimes, but the Patreons are not your employers, we are costumers who pay for content, that means if you produce content you need to bill us for your costs, if you don’t you are running your business uneconomically, aka you will go bankrupt or become uncompetitive. If people feel like the costs outweigh the benefits they will stop paying you all on their own. As far as I see it as long as we can expect you to make projects in a reasonable manner and a reasonable pace I would be glad to pay my pledged contributions in a more dependable manner, like on a monthly basis. If someone is afraid they would pay more when asked to contribute in a more regular manner, they should adjust their pledge accordingly. You should not forget that you are an employer, you have to be able to pay the people you employ regardless of the success of your videos, because they did work and expect to be paid for it. If I remember correctly that was one of the reasons why you have a Patreon account and asking your costumers to pay a subscription instead of a larger one time fee has simply proven to be just all around better. After all there is a reason why companies like paradox have to charge you like 300 Euros upfront to be able to support themselves and their Games or a monthly fee of about 20 (don’t know the exact numbers I just know that I would have loved to not pay 300 bucks for a game that I play only occasionally). I hope you follow the suggestions of switching to monthly contributions instead of per video.

2021-09-23 12:09:00 +0000 UTCAlternatively, you could consider splitting the video into 2 parts and have 2 paid posts
2021-09-23 11:45:20 +0000 UTCI'm not too clear on what's at stake here? Paid post is when we get billed, right? According to the profile, you get around 4000 € per video. So you're asking to do that, right? If I'm not wrong, you're basically asking us to pay in advance, is that correct? The video is coming in October, but you need the money in September for some reason. Is that correct?
