Patron Decided Romance - Human Form Concept Art (Minor Spoilers)

Here we have several possible designs for the human form of the Patron-Decided Romance, Rowan Ashfield. The war has taken a toll and aged Rowan beyond his years, despite being only a few years older than Malcolm. Rowan wears facial hair to help hide some of the scars.

If you're new to the project and not yet in the know, Rowan is the romanceable character we've been designing along with Patron feedback! You can catch up on previous posts, including the transformed design Patrons voted for, in this collection.
Rowan's story line is coming up next after we've completed our cleanup patch, and we've made a lot of headway on both! Once we know which option wins, we're excited to refine the design and complete our very first Rowan sprite for Changeling Tale's next chapter!

2024-07-24 01:39:58 +0000 UTCI like aspects of all of them. I've seen A in art on furaffinity so that's what he looks like in my mind. B because, he seems to only have lost one limb, which feels like it's saying "You count as disabled even if you've lost only one". The sideburns in A seem to accentuate he's growing them to cover scars. Come to think of it, he looks like he might be confused for Balgair in B xD

2024-07-22 00:38:53 +0000 UTCYeah, I think A's gonna win, as it's already been somewhat defaulted, & I vote for that one, too. After all, Ro is still to look somewhat younger through it all. He & Malcolm were just heading in towards their 20's, after their military experiences. However, I do look at C & think that could still have some applications if Rowan were to ever say, live his life down in time & grew a stache+beard or so. Little bothered I can't 'officially' vote, though. I may only be Player tier, but I thought I still could do votes. Perhaps you'll still account for mine? ;)

2024-07-21 20:30:58 +0000 UTCYouTube has some excellent videos on the UKs 'WW1 prosthetics', and it would be really cool to involve the history. Fake eyes, arms and legs for sure. It would be interesting if someone was fitting Rowan with them. Perhaps if Rowan isn't choosen then he is fitted with prosthetics?

2024-07-20 21:47:50 +0000 UTCYeah, the black and white palette gives the hair a grayish tone that definitely makes them feel older. Hopefully once the sprites are colored they'll look more in line with the age we imagined for Rowan!

2024-07-20 01:17:18 +0000 UTCThe idea of growing out facial hair to hide scars is very true to life, but at the same time I can imagine it being like a lesser of two evils: "Ye think I like this scratchy thing! I'd rather be clean shaven, but I can't bare it! I look like a broken mirror."

2024-07-20 00:33:25 +0000 UTCA is the best i think, i liked B better at first but id have to see a side angle as B just looks too old, the issue with B and C are just that they look like 20-30 years too old. A just looks the youngest and despite liking the face structure of B better, B is just too old looking.
