[A System Through The Multiverse][Chapter 1][Patreon Exclusive]

Ken woke up with a pained grunt as he looked around himself, immediately his eyes were locked on multiple bodies around him.

Further in the fray he heard screams, roaring winds and even caught glimpses of fire, rocks the size of boulders and water streams cutting through the air as two distant armies seemed to battle it out in a Shonen worthy war.

He blinked his eyes in confusion at the state he was in before realising something peculiar.

“ This is not my body...” That realisation came with a sudden clarity that he had honed after years of being intune with his being.

He quickly made to stand only to wince as he found his body littered in wounds.

Then he looked at the hundreds of bodies all wearing almost matching outfits.

And immediately his mind recollected where he had seen outfits just like those.

“ Naruto Universe? How? I was definitely not taking a job into this universe when I went to sleep.” He muttered to himself but then again he found himself in another's body so that didn't really matter.

He stared at his body and with control honed through decades of effort he peered into his being and winced.

His soul was an amber to the might that he remembered it being, his body was weaker by a whole planets magnitude too alongside other changes done to him.

But after a while he made some deductions to his situation.

One being that he had been inserted into the body of a weak human, in a Naruto Universe without his approval or consent.

Two, he was weak fodder and would probably die in the next few hours if not minutes if he stayed as he was.

Three, all his gains as a Multiversal Mercenary for the Multiversal Traversal Company he had worked for were gone and the link between them was nowhere to be seen so he was stranded in this world.

Ken really didn't like whatever was going on but now wasn't the time to mull over that.

So as he made way to stand up, he paused as his eyes went wide like saucers as he felt an intruder plunging straight into his soul.

Immediately he pulled his full consciousness inside his soulscape and was horrified by the intruder.

A fucking System was trying to assimilate itself into his soul.

Yes, a system.

The type that plunged themselves into a person, promised and granted an out of context advantage to its hosts to make them drop their guard as they fed on the essence produced by its hosts actions and its host too.

Ken had dealt with systems before and he knew that he did not want one bonding with him, no matter whether it would grant him early benefits and a probable way to survival.

And as he watched the system plunging into his soul he riddled his brain with how to stop the system while studying it's overall aura—sonething that was easier to do inside his being than out.

Ken saw that the system was weaker than all the system's he had dealt with and incredibly inexperienced as it tried bonding to him.

That immediately allowed him to see that this was probably a newly born or created system.

That immediately cut down the systems threat factor by a huge margin.

And with that knowledge a solid and daring plan formed inside his mind.

‘ This...could work.’ He thought with a mulling expression.

And so acting on his plan he willed his power and dominion over his soulscape into action.

Immediately the system which had the appearance of a black slimy liquid paused it's plunge into his soul.

With a mental tug the system rocketed towards his mental avatar and froze infront of him, squirming and thrashing inside a willed orb of pure willpower.

“ Why hello there little one.” Ken muttered, a grin on his face as he sent a mental probe into the consciousness of the System entity.

Immediately he had to chuckle as the probe went unhindered.

The System had no defences, meaning that it would be weak to anything his mental avatar could do.

And so he started, even though he wasn't an avid psionic he still knew enough over that prospect of power to simulate it's effects in his soulscape where he was literally god in.

So tapping on that dominion he drilled his consciousness into the System, finding the fledging system's mental consciousness exuding pure panic and fear before Ken drilled himself deeper and into the systems consciousness.

His consciousness, one that was vastly superior to the system even if he was weakened made quick work of the system's consciousness.

Ken took its memories, drinking in it as every memory that the system had formed since it's birth became his.

Then when the system's consciousness was nothing but a hollow shell he ripped it into atomical pieces and then absorbed said pieces into his own mental avatar.

Quickly he found his own mental processes expanding by a vast margin to what his normal brain could do and he smiled at that.

Then he looked around the system's mental space and found what he was looking for.

A glowing spark laid centre in the system's entire being.

This was where the systems power lay, the manifestation of it.

This would be it's soul if systems had souls.

And so after finding the core he split his mental processes into two, finding the process easy with his boosted mental prowess.

One laid in the system with a shallow control over the systems being and another took over the mental avatar in his soulscape.

That one quickly laid it's control over his soul, willing the spark towards him even if it dwarfed his mental avatar even in its spark form.

Then with pure control and manipulation he slowly split his soul, making sure to not damage it as he did.

An endeavour that took longer than he liked but at the end he had 80% of his soul and the remainder of 20% on the side.

Then once more he practiced his control and shoved 80% of his soul into the system entity, which the second mental process of his mind quickly started on fusing with the very core of the system in a slow process.

The other 20% was left in the body he now inhibited, to act as his link to it and allow control.

The two soul pieces were still one of the same after all and metaphysically linked to his being.

And finally after his biggest soul piece finally assimilated with the system he felt a deep change in himself.

His consciousness seemed split between the two even if they were one of the same, but that was what he had wanted.

He had basically stolen the body of a system, a being of unmatched potential.

But this action had more to it than that.

He had after all essentially ensured his survival.

As even if the human body he now owned died, he'd live on in the system.

Plus the Systems had an ability that allowed them traversal into the Multiverse, expanding his avenues to grow.

But for now he needed to know what his new system body granted him, so he focused on the stream if consciousness controlling the system and willed the System's information out.

Ken breathed out a sigh of relief when he saw no change in the status from that he saw from his memories.

The System while having been young and newly born had potential, that much he could see.

If only it hadn't met him he was sure that the system would have been a powerful System amongst the System Community.

It's inexperience and lack of defences to its being had been it's undoing.

And yes, the Systems seemingly had a community—linked through a connection that allowed them communication and even trade.

But he'd get to that later as for now he wanted to see what his capabilities were, as the System he had taken over hadn't really been smart, only reacting through instincts to find a host as soon as possible which he couldn't fault really as apparently that's how systems grew their own personalities—Through observing their hosts.

So Ken started up his journey as a System by searching through the innate database if information that all systems had to find the information on the meaning of the things written in his system.
