ARC Fields: Gate, Comp., Analog distortion, Demo App!
Added 2024-08-04 22:41:07 +0000 UTCHey Yall,
There's been lots of work going on to get Fields ready for a full Beta launch in the next month and I'm very excited to share a piece of what's been going on.
long in development the channel strip Gate, Compressor, and Preamp distortion emulation are 99% finished and I'm really happy with how they turned out. Below is a link to a demo application where you can load tracks and preview how it sounds!
The new compressor is super flexible being able to mimic modern and vintage sound so you can get the sonic signature of an SSL E ch or 1176. It has switchable topology for forward / back feed sidechains, switchable RMS / Limiter type detectors, and external sidechain input.
The Preamp emulation has 3 different modes. Cleen (Bypass) Warm, and Crunchy. Warm adds a faint 2end and 3ed harmonic to the signal, Crunchy uses the popular Inverse Tangent waveform that adds exponential harmonics all the way up the spectrum. Both of the emulators get more distorted as you drive the input level to them and work great for adding upper harmonics to just about anything.
