Hi Folks,
Welcome to another episode of Straight from the Desk!
In this episode, we will be painting a Space Wolves Terminator.

I love the look of the new space marine terminators that were released in the new 10th edition of Warhammer 40k.
I have a deep-rooted love for Space Wolves

I love how you can play with the mixture of more technical elements of the science fiction world and the Viking-like rough and wild side, with a lot of organic elements, dirt, rust, warpaint, bones, fur, and snow.

I wanted to go for a slightly bulkier look so I converted the terminator using a few pre-heresy bits.
In this rather long episode, we will paint the whole Terminator,
in the first half of the video we will be focusing on how to create a super worn and rusty armor, and the second half of the video will be focusing on some shiny elements to contrast the worn and dull look of the armor.
This contrast between old and new elements helps us to create a strong contrast. It shows that it is important to not only focus on color or value contrast but that there are many many different forms of contrast that you use to make your miniature stand out.
I am pretty sure you have heard this feedback more than once "MORE CONTRAST" ...most people think of either color or value contrast first, but be open to exploring other forms of contrast like:
old/new, glossy/dull, warm/cold, texture/smoothness, quality contrast.. etc.
As a lot of you folks expressed that you love the basing video... we will also have a video that is focused on what lies beyond the average snow base with glacier ice, permafrost, icicles, and snow. We will see in the next episode how we create a stunning snowbase in no time.
Alright, hope you like this video and thanks for your support!
