When we have a look at the sculpt of lauka vai, we can really see what plastic models of today are capable of, it´s crazy to see the amount and the fineness of the details.
A female face in miniatures is for the most part finer proportioned, with fewer deeper wrinkles than male faces.
To achieve the same level of contrast, we have to focus more on the highlights and keep the darkest shadows very short and only softened out minimally.
We ad the deepest shadow only under the nose and in between the lips.. And we use only a little bit of mid shadows under the brows and the cheeks.

For the highlights, it's important to still see the different smaller highlights and still have a soft blend with the mid-tones. We are using mainly layers and glazes to achieve that.

In the picture below, you can see what difference the addition of personal details makes. I have added a bit of stubble on her shaved head and a bit of leaking mascara.
