Contrast paints.. its all i see :D

Hey Folks,

while the heatwave has its sweaty grip all over the world and its almost impossible 

to paint, why don´t stay inside and watch a painting video.

I am pretty sure all of you have seen the millions of posts of people trying out the new contrast paints.. and here are my 5 cents ;)

If you haven't had the chance to test them yourself here is a little video that should help to get a first idea how they work.

I hope you are not already tired of all these contrast post... because here comes mine ;)

I had the honor to be invited by Games Workshop to test the paints before the actual release and give them my feedback and discuss the pros and cons.

They have also sponsored me with a full set to test them in detail as the weekend over in Nottingham was not enough to really see how they work and just offered a first glimpse into what you can do with those.

Here is a little sum up:

I think the paints will make it extremely easy for the novice painter to get a result that looks good enough on the table.

And I hope that it will reduce that frustrating Experience at the beginning of your journey as a painter where have a hard time to make your figures look somewhat good... and it will lead more and more people into showcase painting... exploring what comes after the new world of washes. 

For sure those paints are not a magical one-step solution for miniature painting, they are another very interesting tool in the toolbox.

I think they have a high potential to be used not in their intended way.. they work fantastic for wetblending and loadedbrush and I think the future will show how we can incorporate them into our workflow...

In this video, I will show you how the Paints work in general but also how I used them to tackle something like the fantastic resin "Avatar of  Cthulhu" by Joaquin Palacios for Dust the Game by Paolo Parente.

Paolo gave me the Miniature as a gift at the last Adepticon... I just love Paolo ever since we met in 2001 at the Games fair "Spiel" in Essen together with the Team of Rackham and Paul Bonner...2001 .. damn I am old :D
