All For Myself Chapter 29
Added 2023-07-08 16:03:10 +0000 UTCI walked casually through the base of Shie Hassaikai with a feeling of deep seated feeling of impatience as Izuku walked by my side. Recruiting him into my forces was a fantastic move on my part, he's constantly running himself into the ground during training, and with the extra Quirks that I've given him he'd be able to compete with most high ranking heroes, but with my plans for him it won't make much of a difference if he gets a few extra Quirks.
He is the key to my plans, the one who will pave the path for me to change this society, and if I want to bring down All Might and everything that he's built up then I need someone with a deep seated hatred for the man himself. And, who better than the boy who he failed?
Izuku still lacks confidence though, no matter how strong he becomes, or what powers he gains, he can't seem to let go of the idea that he is a loser, that mentality is holding him back, only once he finally lets go such a detrimental mindset will he truly be ready to make a change. Just like how I had to change my old way of thinking in order to begin this rebellion in the first place.
Looking back I can't help but wonder, if I got my Quirk at four like every other kid would I try and use 'All For One' to be a hero? Probably not in all honesty, most likely because the HPSC would have locked me away and thrown the key in the bin. It's the way of the world, fear and sadism is what drives humans, just like how the Quirked were ruthlessly persecuted back in the dawn of Quirks, they were the minority and they were unknowns, so they were freaks to society by default. Then the Quirkless became the minority, that's when the tables were turned and the regular human beings became the freaks of society.
Truth be told I used to agree with Chisaki's way of thinking, not his methods though, I was Quirkless back then and at some point I began to have a hatred for Quirks, the jealousy and anger I felt towards superhumans was part of it, I grew bitter and envious of those around me, I grew to loathe both my life, and the lives of my bullies.
But, the old me is long gone, he was weak, naïve, and foolish. I am the new Ryoto Saito, and I'm better than him in every way. And soon enough the world would kneel before me and move forward from the antiquated ways of the past.
And it's not just the heroes that I'm after. I've been so distracted with my own plans that I just didn't have time to cause a scene with the Yakuza, I had to have Toga get her hands on some of Eri's DNA before I actually tried to get her back, besides this'll be a little test for Izuku, I want to see how much of a backbone he's grown since he joined my organisation.
"So, where is Overhaul hanging around? I've got better shit to do than hang around with a bunch of gangsters, so lets hurry this up." I spoke with disrespect to Chronostasis, I've met his type before, stoic most of the time, but quick to anger when it comes to certain topics, kind of like Nighteye with All Might.
Thinking of the man I killed sometimes makes me wonder, did he have to die? The answer is yes, he absolutely did, even if his future sight is practically useless that doesn't mean that he isn't a loose end, plus I could use that as emotional ammunition later when I fight All Might again, I wonder how enraged Toshi will get when I let him know that I killed his old sidekick? Him flying into a blind rage would make beating him far easier, just one more hole in his stomach ought to do the job. I kid of course though.
What I have planned for him will be far worst that simply dying.
Chrono kept walking and didn't acknowledge my words, though the mild clenching of his fists tells me that he isn't entirely immune to my jabs. Still though, I decided that I'd leave it at that since he finally stopped at a sliding door which I could only assume was where we'd be having our meeting with Overhaul.
From what I remember about Kai Chisaki I know that he is a madman who saw Quirks as a disease that needs to be cured, so to do that he invented a Quirk Destroying bullet that would undo the development of a persons Quirk factor until they devolved to just regular people without Quirk factors, however despite his hatred for Quirks he is perfectly fine with using his own to achieve his goals. Congratulations All Might, you're officially not the biggest hypocrite in Japan anymore.
Chisaki's toxic ideology honestly reminds me of Humarise a bit too much, I really don't remember much about that particular cult group, just that they have some archer in their ranks with mint hair, but I will likely have to deal with them at some point down the road. If not then I can send the heroes after them.
Are you surprised that I disagree with his way of thinking? Well don't be, I like the superhuman nature of this society, admittedly Quirks can do a lot of negative things to people, just look at Katsuki Bakugo and you'll see my point, but that is more the fault of humans themselves than the powers inside of this society. Quirks are the next step in human evolution, simply tools like our fingernails or our fists, nothing more, and nothing less. You can't stop progress, be it social or biological.
And I will allow this progress to continue.
----------------------
When Overhaul heard that two men from Ryoto Saito's group were coming to meet him, entirely unannounced, he expected to find the individuals more... intimidating.
First he saw a pretty tall man with black hair and eyes, he was well dressed and looked as though he were bored out of his mind. Looking at him Kai wasn't getting the idea that he was dangerous at all, it was as though he were just a regular businessman. But, the second man... well boy really was clearly just trying his best to act tough, he was obviously inexperienced as a criminal and couldn't be more than maybe sixteen. It was honestly insulting that was all Ryoto considered necessary if he wanted to meet with the Yakuza, he could probably kill them both without breaking a sweat if he so chose.
But, he would be a valuable ally to have, someone with his power would be a boon for any criminal group in Japan.
All For One. When he first heard of the man as a child he thought that it was just an urban legend, the idea of a Quirk that steals other Quirks existing was just utterly preposterous, someone with such a power would have ruled the world at some point, he would have been put in the history books for everyone to see, he just logically shouldn't have ever existed.
Yet he was proven wrong, and when someone with a power like that comes to you for something you can't exactly say no. He's an absolutely lethal human being, but... he isn't arrogant enough to think that he can do anything against that. He'd rather throw away his pride than throw away his life.
He was lucky though, this All For One apparently has similar beliefs about Quirks to his own, having a conversation with that man was a completely enlightening experience.
Quirks corrupt people, I've seen it everywhere, how people are twisted into thinking that they can be bigger because of their Quirks, but that way of thinking is an illness, I've found out that you have a cure for this illness. If you would allow me I'd like to help you in your endeavour to cure the world.
Those were his exact words, and when given the opportunity to team up with the Demon Lord himself Overhaul instantly jumped at the chance, yet he also wasn't a fool, this could easily be a trap, for whatever reason, so he agreed to allow two of his men to meet with the Shie Hassaikai with a number of conditions, one of which being that he couldn't be there himself, and he accepted all of them.
But, he didn't say when his men would be coming by, after two months he figured that he was just being played for a fool, so imagine his surprise when those men show up two whole months after they first spoke.
Overhaul has zero idea how his compound in Hosu was locate, but he doesn't have time to question these things, and he has no idea how to answer that question, so instead of pointlessly pondering these things he'll just talk with them face to face, and show them that he is not afraid of the. Worst case scenario he would just have to kill them both and wash his hands of this place.
The clean air from within the confines of his mask felt extremely claustrophobic as he spoke to his two guests with Chrono and Nemoto at the door, his left hand and right hand men were keeping a vigilant
he was sitting down on a regular wooden chair as he gestured for his two guests to sit down." Please, sit down, your leader sent you here in his stead, so lets talk."
The two exchanged a look briefly before moving to sit down just a short distance away from Overhaul, with the man not so much as prying his eyes from the two of them for so much as a second.
Once they were seated Overhaul immediately got down to business and started to interrogate the duo." So, your Ryoto's men? You don't look like much." He comments offhandedly.
The black haired one simply snorted at that." Well, looks can be deceiving." He then proceeded to snicker to himself, as though he were telling an inside joke.
Overhaul took notice of how the green haired one seemed to sweat mildly at his partners antics, but didn't question it as he followed up with another question." Why did your boss send you here after over a month? I'm not someone who you can just meet with whenever you please, so why did he wait to send you over?"
The suited man just shrugged and said." No idea, probably just slipped his mind."
Overhaul felt a tic grow on his forehead as he heard that." Slipped his mind?" He questioned with a dangerous edge to his voice. He really hated how that one was addressing him, it was like he didn't see the man in front of him as a threat, and that really got on his nerves.
Black eyes met Overhaul's own golden ones as he responded." Yeah, it slipped his mind, he's a busy man and some dying Yakuza branch just isn't important enough for him to think about all the time, that's the reason he sent us here for him instead. Because, we don't need you and your little gang."
Overhaul felt his blood boil at that and his hand unconsciously twitched towards the fool who had the audacity to think that he could talk to Kai like that.
Hearing those words Nemoto stepped forward and placed the barrel of his gun on the back of the disrespectful bastards head." Is that so? Well it should be said that we don't need you either, so I suggest that you mind your tone before-"
"Before what? If you kill me then my boss will be on top of this place in no time, if he can match All Might then what can you really do to him?" The man spoke offhandedly, completely unaffected by the fact a gun was pointed to blow his brains out at any moment.
A few seconds of silenced passed at that, the green haired boy didn't seem worried for his partner at all, from that Overhaul can deduce that a bullet wouldn't do the job for the black haired one, so with that in mind he ordered his subordinate to drop his weapon." Drop your weapon Nemoto."
For a moment his left hand hesitated, but he did remove his weapon from the head of the disrespectful punk and stood besides Chrono, with him glaring through the glasses of his black plague mask the entire time.
Overhaul suddenly changed the topic of conversation by suddenly speaking up." All For One. He was known as the emperor of darkness for generations, all of the Yakuza elders would fear him, even after his death the underworld still felt his presence, when I heard rumour that someone with his power wanted to form an alliance with Shie Hassaikai I jumped at the chance, but now it feels a little ungenuine, what does your leader really want from me?"
Overhaul was very suspicious of these two, they weren't acting like they wanted to join up with him at all, with the blatant disrespect and lack of interest in him, it's like they wanted no part of him whatsoever.
The black haired one narrowed his eyes, but after a moment he snorts a little at that." Well, you caught us, truth is we have no interest in joining up with someone like you, and we don't care for your little bullets either, honestly how could you be stupid enough to think that we'd want any part with you?"
At the completely blunt and casual remark Chisaki was actually surprised for a second, and it wasn't just him, his two subordinates also seemed taken aback by the words of someone who is just meant to be a messenger for Ryoto, hell even the green haired kid was clearly shocked by his partners words, though he hid it just a moment later.
But, then the weight of his words crashed down on Overhaul and his eyes grew bloodshot with anger as he stared at the fool who thought he could talk to the leader of the Hassaikai like that, it ignited a raging inferno of negative emotions and he responded to them by removing on glove from his hand and getting ready to-
A child's foot suddenly burst through the door which Nemoto and Chrono were guarding, the owner of said foot was then revealed to be a little girl, she was dressed in nothing but bandages and dirty rags, she had big ruby red eyes, and long pale-silver coloured hair that reached the bottom of her back. He recognised the girl all too well. Eri.
She was both confused and terrified as her eyes met Overhaul's own, she was sweating nervously and her eyes reflected nothing but pure terror as she met eyes with her tormentor. She was scared out of her mind as she looked around the room and clung to the closest person she could find. A boy with green hair.
Overhaul saw this and his mind started to burn with even more anger than ever as he saw his cure cling to his enemy, he was partly pissed at his useless underlings for allowing her to just walk by like that, but he was also mad that Eri would dare to run out of her room, she's never done this before, What is she doing?
Izuku saw that a little girl was currently clinging to his leg and gained an expression of confusion as he examined the situation closely. He did his best to remain calm as he noticed how she was on the verge of tears and was avoiding eye contact with the Yakuza in front of him at all costs. She was also wrapped in bandages, her legs and arms were covered with them, and what she was wearing could hardly be classified as more than rags. She was thin too, not to the point where she was anorexic or anything, but she definitely didn't look like she was being fed more than the bare minimum.
He looked at her and then back at Overhaul, who was practically seething with rage, he frowned as he tucked her behind him, trying to distance the girl from the criminal, Izuku might have technically been a villain, but he wasn't going to let that man touch the girl who was on the verge of breaking down from complete terror. He didn't doubt that he could take the man though, he's been training for months and had multiple Quirks at his beck and call. The only question he needed answering was just what this girl was doing in this place to begin with, this isn't exactly a family friendly environment.
He'd learn more later, right now he just wanted to keep the girl safe.
The tension in the air was high, everyone except the girl looked ready to strike at a moments notice, but Overhaul surprised everyone by suddenly laughing in a very fake and forced way that seemed to make Eri cling onto Izuku with even more desperation than before.
Overhaul put on a 'cheery' voice as he spoke to Eri." Sorry about my daughter, she can be awfully naughty sometimes, she has no place to interrupt our meeting, why don't you just go back to your room, yeah Eri?"
Izuku stared at the girl- Eri he took note of- and then towards his disguised leader, who simply nodded in agreement, knowing what was going through Izuku's head, and turned to the leader of the Hassaikai and spoke with a serious and spoke with a voice so commanding and firm that even though it was just one word it seemed to carry the weight of the world.
"No."
At being denied Overhaul immediately quit his terrible acting and then spoke in a chilling tone towards the little girl who was hiding behind Izuku." Eri, come over here, you don't want those men to die do you-"
The black haired man raised his left hand suddenly suddenly and tendrils of black energy burst out of them and captured both of Overhaul's hands before enveloping them, effectively locking down his Quirk.
"Boss!" Nemoto yelled in distress at seeing his leader be held up and suspended in the air like a puppet. He, along with Chrono, raised their guns to fire at the two... only for their limps to immediately betray them and they were harshly thrown onto the roof of the room by some form of telekinesis.
It happened so fast that if you blinked you'd have missed it. Overhaul felt confusion and fear as he tried to disassemble the strange tendrils of energy that were holding his hands only for his Quirk to fail, he couldn't do anything to free himself!
After disarming the three men with ease the black haired one finally got up from his feet and gained a cold expression that gave Overhaul goosebumps. But, to his surprise, the face of the suited man began to change, as did the colour of his hair, and his height, until the true him was finally revealed.
Overhaul felt the colour drain from his face as he saw who was staring down at him from his full height, the Quirk stealer himself.
He regarded Overhaul with a hint of amusement on his face as he gazed back at the little girl, who was too scared to look up and Izuku was trying to approach her with caution and sympathy in his eyes. He saw this and the edges of his lips curled up ever so slightly. He then turned to face the girls abuser and had a mocking tone in his voice." You have a really twisted way of thinking you know that? I came out here so that I could personally let you know what you've done, but never did I think that it would be this easy. I'm going to enjoy this."
Overhaul started to struggle against his binds desperately but he soon found that he couldn't control his limbs, he was then forced to kneel before Ryoto as he held his glowing red palm towards Overhaul's face.
"Wait! I-"
Ryoto cut him off before he could even begin." Nothing, I wonder how many times that girl asked you to stop, yet you didn't did you? Instead you took her blood to use in those disgusting bullets."
Hearing that Overhaul felt the breath leave his throat, as though someone sucked it out of him." You-you knew about-"
"Of course I knew. I knew that you were using someone's DNA to create those bullets, that girl is terrified of you, I can only wonder what you did to her with your Quirk. Well Karma had it's dues."
Overhaul felt a large amount of fear as the palm of a devil was brought closer to his face and in a last-ditch attempt to keep his power he screamed." I THOUGHT YOU AGREED WITH ME?!!"
Eri heard his yell and wilted away once more as she tried to block his voice out, Izuku saw this and knew what Ryoto was about to do and, frankly, he didn't raise so much as a single protest. He deserved it.
Ryoto actually let a laugh of amusement pass through his lips at that." Your kidding me right? You don't actually believe that Quirks are bad do you? It's true that Quirks can have a negative affect on a person's life, but they don't need to, this world progresses in many different ways, Quirks are the next stage of humanity Kai, and you can't stop progress."
After his little speech he then grabbed onto Kai's face and started to rip the Quirk out of his body, Kai felt completely helpless in that moment, he hadn't felt that way in years, not since he was nothing but a tiny, weak, filthy, orphan who was dying of both starvation and disease out on the streets, he hasn't been the prey for years, and he desperately wanted to hold onto the power that made up his identity as Overhaul.
But, despite his best efforts, Kai had his Quirk completely ripped away from him, he was reduced to nothing but a Quirkless nobody.
Ryoto saw this and spoke coldly to Kai as he finally let go of his face, now with one extra Quirk.
"Evolution-"
Kai fell to the ground, unconscious.
"-isn't something that you can reverse. You can't close pandora's box."
