Kinda surprised Mason Quinn and Oak gave it lower scores than I was expecting. Also, the reason I think a lot of us enjoyed Agatha All Along so much was due to how different if felt from being "just another superhero series", kinda like the penguin. This is one of the few times where Oak has a take that I don't agree with (like when he said Harry Potter is better than Lord Of The Rings). But anyways, really enjoyed this series and enjoyed y'all's reaction to it. For me I give this a 4.25/5.

I'm Batman

This show really works as a rewatch or if you're really paying attention. 1. Nicky and Agatha created the song, thats why lyrics did makes sense in the early days. And also why Agatha is extra ashamed because Nicky didnt like killing witches, but Agatha used a personal song to then kill witches for centuries. 2. Rio said the rumour about the darkhold was fake

Ruva Chipato

Joe Locke is so good in this. It's only his second on screen role. His first was Heartstopper which was also a huge hit. Heartstopper would be a good series for you to react to. Its only 8 episodes and without credits they're only about 25 minutes long. It's a show for parents to watch with their gay children. The lead characters are only 15 or 16 years old. It may not be everyone's experience but gay teens need shows that are hopeful and optimistic too.

Ben Gilbert

It leaned heavy in his direction because he’s not just some random boy he’s literally the son of the Scarlett witch. That’s a big deal for the MCU

James

Unfortunately we already have Recency bias🥲 He should’ve voted first😂🙏

Dani

Agree the show deserved a higher budget but the practical effects worked for a place created in Billy’s mind. Also Billy is a Young Avenger in the comics so his witch powers can definitely fight the bad guys in the MCU. If there's no season 2 of Agatha then we’ll most likely see her in the Young Avengers/Champions series with Billy, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Ms Marvel.

Anna K

Men can be witches too

Anna K

I do like the actor, but I am such an Agatha fan and I found him aggravating after he turned in episode 5. I felt like the show leaned too heavily in his direction after that and it felt forced to please certain people when it could’ve been more balanced. I also have a hard time with the random boy being the key character left at the end of a show led by powerhouse women.

sh3p

Correct! Billy made the trials and therefore influenced their hallucinations with parameters he knew about and let their minds fill In the blanks. With Agatha, Jen had just told him that rumor so that was what she saw. Still horrifying to see for her even if it wasn’t real.

sh3p

The perfect season 2 that most fans want would be set in the past and bring back the original coven and give more backstory to Agatha and Rio. Billy is already set for another show.

sh3p

You can tell the baby was sickly in that first scene and then after she drains the forest witches he’s babbling and has color in his cheeks. The night he dies it looks like they had spent days together before playing and writing the song - he was already weak. When they didn’t kill that night he went downhill fast and you can feel Agatha’s anxiety before she pushes jt down for his benefit. But Death still comes and takes him from her arms while she slept.

sh3p

To be clear, it still is and was Agatha All Along. Billy’s road is based on her ballad and her legendary con, and she feeds him the rules along the way. It’s really just the themes, aesthetic, games that come from him. He was much like Wanda in this, but less evil and completely oblivious.

sh3p

Yeh I think they would really enjoy the show! I really hope they react to it

Declan Jones

They have the uncut version you can watch

Katie

Yeah Wanda is literally a witch and her power also shows the vast power of witches. These shows tie in to the broader MCU. There is a Young Avengers movie that's been in the making. Hence we will see more of their powers in a larger scope (Billy and Agatha)

Dani

By 'Traditional Marvel', in regards to this new phase, do you mean shows like like She-Hulk?👀Secret Invasion? We all know how those went so yikes😭3.5 is low for this show tbf. Oak…Wanda is a witch remember...?😅 Yes, she was only revealed as one to non-comic readers after WandaVision, but knowing that *moving forward* shows that Witches (even Vampires and Werewolves now) are integral in the MCU!🙏Especially The Scarlet *Witch*. lol. Therefore, they will obviously be explored further since they are only now recently being adapted from the comics.

Dani

I believe Agatha was taking Nicky and traveling around stealing witches powers so she could be strong enough to fight Rio/Death off whenever she decided to come for him. She says it’s “to survive”. But instead Rio/Death came in their sleep and took Nicky’s soul peacefully without waking Agatha

Jordan Dobbs

I will say this to Oak about how witches fight villains like Thanos. You’ve already seen it. Wanda is a witch, and she almost beat Thanos. Granted, she and Billy (Wiccan) are likely the most powerful. But this has already been shown in the Avengers and Multiverse of Madness movies.

Brittany McGee

I'd give this comment a 0.5

The Leek

I believe it is a real place with trails now he just closed the door in the basement to make a memorial

Dean Joyner

Omg I would love that. I could see Oak loving all the mental health talks and just positivity the show brings too. He loves his lessons!

Amanda P

Fans are hoping for a season 2 and I would love that but also agree it could lose the magic of the first season and that happens quite often with smaller series. But there is going to be another Wanda spin off with VisionQuest, idk if maybe they'll show Billy and Agatha finding Tommy in that and then finding Vision? But I hope we do see more of the characters from this show. As someone who really doesn't care for marvel (my husband has watched everything so I've seen like 70% of the mcu) I actually really enjoyed this (probably because I love anything witchy lol). And I'm glad it wasn't like other marvel projects, because honestly from all the things I see online, everyone's getting sick of the same recycled stories and just how much content marvel puts out, I think this was a breath of fresh air they needed. Especially when it comes to budget because you don't need big flashy expensive cgi if you have a shitty story, this show was mostly practical and we've really lost that in Hollywood nowadays, so I think they did absolutely amazing with the little budget they got because practical is always better. Marvel never really delved into the more supernatural\magic side of their world, so I love that they did and I'll be interested if they keep going with it. Anyways I rambled too much lol but I'm glad you guys enjoyed it!

Amanda P

I’d give this show a 2.0. Besides WandaVision, I have been hugely unimpressed with Marvel’s Disney+ shows.

Ginger

Usually, hate the "watch along format"(in general on patreon) but this show - HAD TO!

Zachary Hamil

😂😂😂🤙🤙🤙

I doubted this show after episode 1, stuck it out for the reactions, and DD was right, ended up loving the show and how the story was told

Steven Warner

The hair is looking great DD 🤘🏼. Like a dark and shorter haired version of Paul Phoenix 😉😂

The Bill Casey

Forgot to mention, I know you guys were really sold on the rumor about Agatha giving up her son for the Darkhold, but going back to episode 8, that confrontation scene again between Agatha and Rio, Rio straight up asks her, "Why do you let them believe those things about you, about Nicky?" and Agatha says, "Because the truth is too awful." So they were trying to plant a seed of doubt there about the rumors. Personally I kept that in mind when we did get to the flashbacks, that maybe everyone was wrong about her.

Bri

I heard that the writer cast a boy that looked like Aubrey and Kathryn. Also Nicky calls Agatha mama. But he said his Mother needs him home. Which many people believe he was referring to Rio and the she visited him at night. And that's why he wasn't afraid of her when she came

Ana

I personally enjoyed his character a lot more than most of the other characters introduced into the MCU in the past few years. For his second acting role ever he did really good

James

Still watching the end review but want to chime in and let Mason Quinn know that Rio and Agatha were together before she had Nicholas. When she appears, Agatha pleads: "Please my love." Whatever they had going happened before this and if you go back and listen to the campfire scene again, Rio's story makes more sense. She said she had a scar and told the group, "A long time ago, I loved someone, and I had to do something that I did not want to do, even though it was my job. And it hurt them. She is my scar." We didn't have the Death reveal then so it becomes clearer looking back and now we know why the relationship became irreparable. Agatha couldn't get over Rio taking Nicky away from her, but Rio, being literally Death, didn't really have a choice. As Rio said during their confrontation on the road, she gave Agatha special treatment, which Agatha scoffed at because that wasn't enough for her, she understandably wanted more time with her son. I also want to quickly point out that I love that Diamond Dave caught the strange cut off in that scene when Rio said: "This walk with another women's son, on a road that doesn't ex-," of course, now we can finish the line for her, "exist." I do feel like we see Agatha coming to terms with Nicholas' passing, and maybe finally understanding what Rio was getting at during that campfire scene, when after Billy asks, "Am I killing this boy to save my brother." her response was that powerful line, "No Billy, sometimes boys just die." It feels like she's finally accepting that that was always going to be his fate, even though she killed so many to prolong it. I've watched this show 3 times now and I love how it finally comes together in the end. Going back, there were so many hints and everything was staring us right in the face but we didn't have all the pieces to put it together yet. I definitely recommend a rewatch because of this, everything Agatha does and says makes so much more sense and it becomes even funnier when you realize she's bullshitting everything about the road. Rio's behavior is also interesting to watch again, she treats it all like a game and is pretty impressed as she takes in the road for the first time, just skipping along lol. In the Ouija episode, apart from the maniacal laugh when the board answers Death, it's funny seeing how genuinely bothered she is by ghosts. The way she says "Ghosts, I hate ghosts," cracks me up lol, and it makes more sense now. Rio being Death explains why she was ready to slit Agatha's throat herself, but was unwilling to let Agatha's mother take Agatha's soul with her. I assume Rio wouldn't be able to get her back, and she was fighting for Agatha because she cared about what happened to her soul. Anyway I could go on and on, which I've been doing a lot on here lately lol, but I loved this show, 5 answers from me! The rewatchability is amazing and I'll probably find myself coming back to it during spooky season.

Bri

Definitely the best marvel show in my opinion. I’m looking forward to whatever comes next for Billy’s character. We need him and his brother to reunite then get the rest of the young avengers together. Billy/Wiccan is one of the most powerful characters introduced into the MCU, he can literally manifest anything he can imagine into reality. His true power hasn’t really been shown yet but I’m hoping they do something huge with that in the future

James

Or maybe she just isn’t capable of having maternal feelings (Rio I mean).

Alanna Meyers 🍌

Yes there's also how Agatha was talking about him. She said two things, can't remember the first but then said "no incantations, you were made from scratch." So it's not that he's getting his last name from a man named Scratch. It really does feel like some kind of divine birth. I like the Rio theory as well that maybe she had a part in it somehow, at least it would add to the reasoning of why he was going to die at birth, being a literal child of death. But then if that was the case, I think Rio would actually look at Nicholas as her child as well, but we don't really get that from her.

Bri

Thank you for both episodes at the same time. Your reactions were amazing. You should react to the making of Agatha All Along in YouTube 😊👍

O

Because Jenn survived the path, she will continue to tell the story about the witches road and and how she got back her power. the rumors about the witches road will go on, even if no one will reach it (and Agatha can no longer drain innocent witches) or maybe, now the road is open for every witch?

Astoria

Thanks for this interesting tidbit. My first time watching so that makes a lot of sense 😊

Alanna Meyers 🍌

That’s really interesting. I like when movies, tv, books, etc leave things up for interpretation.

Alanna Meyers 🍌

I don’t know if it was the actor or the way the character was written but I didn’t like Teen/Billy. Overall, loved the show though. As someone who has studied the history of witch-hunting and spent a lot of time in the witch capital of the world, Salem, I was really excited for this series.

Alanna Meyers 🍌

Are you referring to Oaks review? Because 2 of 4 have the show a 4.5 😁🤙

Badd Medicine

I’m surprised that it not feeling like a stereotypical superhero show was a criticism - that was what I loved about it! It’s about witches so it’s witchy, not superhero-y. It’s so unique!

Erica Schneider

It really was Agatha all Along 😭 that damn road! I really enjoyed how much of both witch lore and references to magic in popular culture they incorporated into the show. All of us watching had the same references as Billy/Teen

SeraRose

I second this.

Elizabeth Gidney

It’s funny hearing Oak say this show not feeling like a Marvel show is a negative when I know at least for me that is a reason why it’s so good. It’s a show that knows what it is and the story it’s telling. Also the way they weaved everything together from the beginning is so good.

Dannielle

heartstopper next?

Declan Jones

I feel like you have to rewatch to truly appreciate the show. I believe ratings would change after a rewatch. You will discover how well planned this show was. All the details. All the answers were always in our face

Ana

I know you guys asked who the dad of Nicky is. I think the creators say that all theories are valid, some people think Rio is the 'father' and Agatha gave her bodies to sustain Nicky, and she took Nicky away on the one day they didn't kill witches. Some people think Rio's love for Agatha created life, or that witches don't require a man to have a child. It's probably up for you to decide!

Katie Madsen

Id say im in the middle between oak and mason and answer and dave...Id give it a solid 4...not perfect but def had some great twists and it was a lot of fun. Best MCU project in awhile at least.

Alyssa Dyson

Not sure if you figured it out but Nicky wasn't 'forgetting' the song, him and Agatha were creating it. So in this episode we realise where the song came from how it changed etc. Agatha probably feels guilty for using his song in an evil way after he died by using it to lure and kill witches

Foof

Whoa low scores from Oak and Quinn. It’s solidly a 5 🤦‍♀️

Olive_Sandy

Awesome thanks for dropping these back to back! 💜

Alyssa Dyson

WE HAVE ARRIVED!! Thanks for dropping both today. I'm watching along while I work on slide shows 😂😂.

Adrianna Marie Aka AD

Right! I'm even more excited for today than I already was

Amanda P

My jaw dropped.

Keshonna Laniece

Holy shit both episodes what a surprise!! I'm glad you guys did it this way! 🤩 Can't wait to watch after work
