2025-02-17 00:34:57 +0000 UTCHearing Mason mention wanting to see other investigations by L reminded me of how I wish they'd animated Death Note Another Note: The Lost Angeles BB Murder Cases, i.e. the investigation Naomi was part of. The light novel was a fantastic read and a compelling story within the Death Note world that gives more insight into L's upbringing. I'm also sure you'd three love the story as well, as it depicts another cat and mouse game but with the added weight of L's past.

2025-01-02 07:43:44 +0000 UTCI don't think you are correct, L is speaking analytically when he says that because he has literally nothing linking Light to the crimes directly not even his "murder weapon" so to speak but its obvious at this point that L for whatever reason has a beat on Light as his favorite suspect and the reason he keeps saying 5% to himself is to remind himself of the mathematical odds that Light is actually Kira and to make sure he doesn't jump the gun and spoil his investigation.

2025-01-02 07:42:01 +0000 UTCExactly, that’s what I’m saying, for ppl who don’t speak Japanese it might sound more serious. And in English or in any other dub, it just sounds more goofy. On top of that there are great anime dubs but there are bad anime dubs that don’t fit the character and and maybe not the greatest voice actor, which can cause the dub to sound funny or even cringier compared to the sub.

2024-12-24 08:33:07 +0000 UTCI mean the Japanese is pretty goofy and over the top too. You don't even need to understand the langauge to notice it. The reactions are so loud and obnoxious, and this has been confirmed by Japanese anime viewers too. They acknowledge that people don't really speak that way, it's an exageration for the medium. Everyone else just doesn't notice it because they don't know what Japanese really sounds like.

2024-12-24 05:59:42 +0000 UTCI wonder what the rationale was for that because that doesn't really make sense at all. Edit: It might be that because everyone else in the Kanto region of Japan's chances of being Kira are soooo low that Light being at 5% is significant.

2024-12-24 04:21:14 +0000 UTCTo answer your question about the "5%" that L keeps bringing up, I'm not sure how true this is since I read it so long ago, but when L says the chances of Light being Kira are a low percentage, he actually means the opposite. The lower the percentage is, the more sure of something he is.

2024-12-23 21:25:11 +0000 UTCI think the dub is great and better than some other anime dubs but the way the dub delivers the lines can be so goofy and funny sometimes. 😂 I feel like sometimes it’s easier to take it a little more seriously when it’s in sub but still love both.
