Retro Futurism: Dahlia's Run part 3 (Finale)

Part 3 of 3!

This one is uhhh..... a fair bit longer than the previous chapters! In my writing program, it came out to 10 pages, which is definitely on the longer side for me, haha. It's a little over 5k words, if that's how you prefer to measure it. 

This one is also a bit dark, which is a trend with my current mood for Stepford content. I tried to add a few little moments of dark comedy, but overall this chapter is somewhat severe in terms of tone and content. I wanted to show a more primitive version of designation compared to how it was depicted in the first Retro Futurism story. I'm not keeping a strict timeline for these stories, but in my mind this one does take place an unspecified amount of time before Designation Day, but after The Museum. 

And, as promised to $5 and $10 Patrons, the exact ending of this story was determined via vote! I'm not too shocked at what won, but I think it's worth giving people the option to choose something new every once in a while~ 

I'll admit to being a bit unsure of the first two chapters to this story. I had a bit of a difficult time getting back into the Retro Futurism headspace, and figuring out exactly how the story should go was another difficulty, but I actually ended up being incredibly pleased with this ending. My only worry is that it's tacked onto a story I'm not entirely confident in, but I'm also aware that my own view of parts 1 and 2 may not be shared by readers! So if you have been enjoying the story, I really do hope you enjoy this ending! And if the story hasn't been your cup of tea, maybe this chapter will be an improvement? But again, tastes do vary, and this chapter has some dark elements to it. 

Still, I really hope you enjoy it!
