This story is sort of following a typical romance story path, but with a Stepford twist, and this chapter is a key part of that. But I do promise, the last chapter will tie everything up rather neatly~

Thank you! One of the reasons I loved writing Mya so much is because she’s the sort of person who really does just assume Stepford is odd, but harmless. And her growing to enjoy the lifestyle on her own, vs her being forced to see the town for what it actually is, is a conflict I really am glad landed!

One fun dynamic I’ve noticed about this story is that Mya thinks she’s just conforming and blending in with Stepford, but actually she’s one of the most genuine passionate housewives of all since she’s doing it entirely without brainwashing! Glad to see that element come to the fore in this chapter. Sad to see Mya so devastated, but those final scenes are really interesting to see a character really wrestle with Stepford and what they think about it. I have an inkling of how I hope things might go in the finale, and I can’t wait to see how it works out!
