Bet On Black (Part 1)

Hope everyone is ready for another multi-part story! I'm really proud of this one, personally speaking. I'm just about finished writing the last chapter of it (there'll be 5 in total) and I think it's one of my best stories yet, truly.

The premise is pretty simple. "A woman loses a bet and has to stay in Stepford for a year as a result". But I really wanted to make it more of an emotional journey, and there are a couple of factors that (I hope) will set it apart from other Stepfordization stories. The story takes place from 2021 to 2022, though a slightly fictionalized version of our current world (AKA no covid 19, more temperate weather, etc).

And, much like most of my work this year will, Bet On Black takes place entirely in Stepford! I've mentioned before how much I enjoy getting to flesh out my own mental image of the town (a sort of picture perfect, almost cartoonish version of a 1950s town, albeit with certain technological and social advancements), and this story in particular has a lot of Stepford to love.
