Vaudevillain Watchback (With Special Guest)

Hog wasn't there but we were met with a surprise guest half way through. Our first 'fika' and I think it went very well! Also, my Swedish is awesome.

Amazing stream! So lovely and funny to watch also the old triangle sounded really great! When growing up me mum made us listen to the same Dubliners album almost every day whilst doing the dishes (for at least 14 years! except for Christmas time) and so whilst hearing you sing I got the mighty urge to do my dishes. Ah fun times

Those voices..............................wonderful xx

Well, that was just lovely.

And lastly julmust/påskmust IS delicious! This reminds me that I need to stock up in the post-Christmas sale to last me until Easter. 🍾

Ingrid

Foil, I'm sorry to say that you're pronunciation was... painful. BTW Å is pronounced like the O in more or shore; Ä like the A cat and sat and Ö comes close to AI in fair, stairs.

Ingrid

Ah, still catching up on streams I missed. As a swede I can confirm that fika (pronounced feee-kah) is indeed important, not just at work but in all spheres of life (fyi fika is 9.30 and 14.30 in my office so having the stream at 16.00 was way too late in the day 😉).

Ingrid

Jag studerar gaeliska.

Deartháir og chónai? Hvorfor kan du disse ordene?

I'm almost a month late, but... What a treat! No Hoggy at first, but he was waiting lurking in the shadows hehe!! And what a man Duck! And those harmonies 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍

I don't know if they take requests. You can aways try. I immediately thought of the hospital chef video. I think it is a good idea to do Italy/ Italian, many people forget the origins of food they eat. I even met Dutch people claiming macaroni was Dutch. 🙄 That is like claiming Gouda cheese is Finnish 😂

Little Woot (wouter0612)

I'd be afraid if and when he tries Italian! The Actor's sketch has a very stereotypical italian in it, and I am afraid that's what we would get... It's not very realistic! :-) On the other hand, they might test pastas or pasta sauces, or pastries, or chocolates, or any other italian food, and that would be fun! Do they take requests/suggestions on the next language/country to approach?

Cheers! I feel a bit guilty for hijacking the thread with a wall-of-text comment.

Wow! Thanks so much for all of this fascinating information. Thanks for sharing!

4:15pm is a wee bit late for office fika (office hours are 8-5, but any hour is fika hour), and coffee isn't necessary. Any non-alcoholic beverage will do, and snack of your choice. Fika buddies are optional. Tundra? Nope. None at all. Julmust is a mix of juniper, malt and sugar. Careful with what you wish for. There're annual samplings and reviews in the newspapers. We overdose on julmust and marshmallow Santas between October and mid-January. The annual moose hunt is just on. Finger counting starting on the thumb - that's how to spot a northern European. I don't know about the Baltics, but Scandi does it as a part of the German influence. Finger counting starting on the index looks equally weird to us. Good attempt at pronouncing Swedish, just remember to keep the Danish out of it. Two different languages, two very different pronounciations (different to the extent that we find it difficult to understand each other speaking). Å is pronounced like the o in Irish chónaí, Ä is pronounced like the diphthongs in Irish deartháir, and Ö like the í in Irish fír. Great stream lads, and I hope to see you in Stockholm.

Finally catching up with the stream the children banned me from watching live. 'Mum, if we're having a no-screen day, then that applies to you too'.'

Foil's second attempt att pronouncing fika was 10/10 correct.

I'm a Dutch speaking Belgian but I have learnt Swedish. You are trying hard but the pronunciation could be a bit better though. 🤣 Lycka till !

@Hanna Brander I have that with every language I don't know.😂😂😂

Little Woot (wouter0612)

It was Swedish but pretty hard to figure out what he was saying until the translation 😜

I tried to check but Patreon brought me back to the most recent posts everytime uuugh. Life is soo hard 😂

Little Woot (wouter0612)

Haha, you did your research well! Actually, Foil himself shared some interesting facts about us he learned himself (I didn't tell him) on "my" very first livestream in November, I think it was November 19th!

I did some homework. Fun facts I just discovered: Slovenia is tiny country. I know how that feels. There have been Slovenian communities in the Netherlands since the 15th century You have a city and lake named Bled. Bled is probably not pronounced as in "he bled from his nose". Etymological origin unknown. According to a lot of British newspapers and travel blogs Slovenians love bees. You score very high on the Peace Index and the Environmental Performance Index 😍 And apparentely you loooove wine (says internet).

Little Woot (wouter0612)

I hope he gets to it, that should be very interesting. Now I think of it, I know absolutely nothing about Slovenia 🤔 😮Shame on me!

Little Woot (wouter0612)

Haha, I remembered when he did Dutch. Mine is Slovene/Slovenian and we will see when he gets to it. I have faith in Foiley tho. :)

Just Anja

I'm Dutch, so I wouldn't know. Except for Ikea names 😂 I have no fear. He already butchered Dutch 😂 What language would yours be?

Little Woot (wouter0612)

Was that really Swedish? Because it sounded like made up. xD Now I'm a bit terrified for when he comes to my idioms.

Just Anja

Foil trying to speak other languages sounds like when you set the speed of your text to speech too high😂🤭

Little Woot (wouter0612)

Watched it again and have checked out the chocolates. Your critiques are so good I am placing an order for Christmas Gifts, so thank you for trialling these for us xxx
