Hey everyone, just wanted to make a post about another feature I've been working on. This month I've been working on the Loyalty/Happiness system. Monsters have 5 requirements to make them happy. All of their requirements can be found in the Encyclopeadia.
Land - Monsters need to be comfortable, and have preferred Tile types. Nekos like Grass, Slime like Water, Lamia like Sand, etc. If a monster stands on their preferred type, their happiness will increase.
Food - Monsters prefer certain types of food. When they eat their preferred food type, happiness will increase. All other food will cause no change.
Herd - Monsters are social creatures, but they have a preferred amount of their own kind they like to be around. Elves prefer herds of 2-3, for example. To fulfill this requirement you must stay inside that range.
Decor - Monsters prefer different kinds of environments. Harpies like to be around any kind of trees, Nekos like Catmint flowers, and Lamia like cacti, for example. Having at least 3 of their preferred decor will increase happiness.
Sex - Monsters are sexual creatures. Masturbating is nice, but it doesn't satisfy them fully. Every day a monster goes without sex will decrease its happiness, but having sex at least once per day will increase it. Right now all monsters have the same requirements for this one, but this will change in the future so that some monsters have to have sex more than once a day, or even some who can go two or three days without it.
Finally, happiness will translate to Loyalty. If 0-1 requirements are fulfilled, Loyalty will decrease over time. If 2 are fulfilled, Loyalty will not move. If 3-5 are fulfilled Loyalty will increase, obviously it will increase faster the more requirements which are fulfilled.
