Squatters Set Photos Final Day
Added 2021-03-05 18:41:01 +0000 UTCWell that was emotional. We finished early... 6pm. I mean, no one thought that would happen, not even overly optimistic "We'll lash through this now" Foil. But here I am, dearest diary, back again with one final entry. We're tired, but very very happy. Not sure we've had THIS level of satisfaction since.. i'm not sure..?? I still don't know whether it will end up 15 or 30 minutes long or anything in between. I'll be hard at the edit from monday morning - hoping to get it done by tuesday lunch time... we'll see. The data cards we store the edits on are numerous, and worrisome, i know a lot of the day will probably be spent trying to match audio and video... uGHHHHH and panicking when I cant find a shot. BUT, i also know it will be a lot of fun. I'll probably emerge from my edit dungeon, a broken man - at least i don't have to subtitles... SUCKER.
We have always had a bit of trouble trying to match wide and close shots... it's harder than it looks. We even dug out the directing book i bought when i was 16. It's amazing how much attention spans have reduced over time, we were like "where are the pictures!!", anyway, it came good, and i think we've learned something... We usually like to learn the hard way, but.. just maybe its different this time.
Only a few scenes to do today, but looong ones. Lots of line learning - but the climax scenes so there's loads of energy.
Part of the shoot today, involved me playing the trumpet. Can i play the trumpet? WHy of course not. Did I buy a trumpet to annoy my mother many years ago? It's possible.... "Don't buy a trumpet Conor, you'll never use it" ... Well well well, who was right.. oh yeah, you were
Foil spent at least 20 minutes washing his moustache, now that is commitment. More commitment than me for sure, the guy who wore a different pair of jeans on every day, take that continuity officer! (also me).
We went to the local take away coffee shop for lunch in our costumes - they were like "whats with the hair", but more disturbingly, they said to Hog "you look sharp"... no, no he did not.
And then we finished, just like that... I hope you enjoy it, I really do. Thanks for all your support on here - see you next thursday for the stream!

Any kind words or praise that I could give you just wouldn’t feel enough. Trying to convey exactly how excited I am about all of this feels impossible. Thank you so, so much for sharing what you have with us! I loved reading these diary entries and gaining even more understanding about just how hard you guys work in order to create the best quality content. I can’t even begin to fathom the emotion, the effort, the energy, everything that went into bringing Squatters to life again. You guys are amazing. You really are. You’re nothing short of amazing! I’m sure some things weren’t easy or didn’t quite go to plan and you maybe felt frustrated/any other similar emotions because I don’t want to assume, but my absolute favourite part was reading that you’re happy. After filming such a big project and experiencing everything that went into bringing it to life, you’re happy. It gave me the warm fuzzies! And I hope that the editing/subtitling is going well and that, when it’s finally complete, that you’re even happier. Because my word, you guys deserve it. 🥰 My excitement, curiosity and nervousness are at an all-time high, but in the best possible way! I haven’t looked forward to something this much in such a long time. It’s honestly so indescribable! I think about it every day! I’m just so PUMPED! 😁 (Wow, this is so long?! I’m so sorry! 😅)

2021-03-08 10:18:41 +0000 UTCLove the vase with the flowers. Up-cycling at its finest <3 Not a fan of the trumpet. The lip swelling if the pressure isn’t right can put you off learning. Be careful or it will look like you got stung or had botox. Don’t forget to wash out the mouth piece. We have all seen the bacteria ridden mug. Should have went for the saxophone imo. Good luck with the editing. Remember to take breaks. Looking forward to Thursday. No pressure. Sure it will be great 😊

For all of us including all subtitlers...not trying to think too much about it but I can only remember the first time I did it "Oh, just one sketch...it will be fun!" I said. But for real, it is always such an honor and I will do my best to let people know of even the absurdest jokes! Cheers lads.
