What was going through Oisín's mind during Homeschooling Hell

In 'Homeschooling Hell' when Anne is telling Oisín he spelt separate wrong Oisín is typing on a laptop. At first to make it look like I was typing I just wrote random letters but it didn't look right. To bring more realism to the scene (I am constantly searching for truth in my performances) I started to type a stream of consciousness, this is what came out.

When I opened the file this morning this was staring at me and I'd totally forgotten how it got there. I was very confused. Why did the chick deserve a pancake? Was it a young chicken or a young woman? If a young woman, why was I in the 1920's? Who is Susan? So many unanswered questions.

You are so spot on with that one! Pulling out Joyce and all! I thought I recognized a tone of genius in Foil's writing :)

"Once upon a time and a very good time it was there was a moocow coming down along the road and this moocow that was coming down along the road met a nicens little boy named baby tuckoo...." ~ James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

"I was here a longtime ago and when I woke up there were new people." Dark.

OMG! Foil got access to a past life memory, his name was Jeffery. I want to know more.

It’s ALWAYS time for a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference. Nice one.

Susan, like 42, is the answer.

Pancake Tuesday material, lads? Foil, I still want to see the still life drawing. Might make more sense. Or not.

I think it's just to help you get into the mood and culture. In my Spanish class in high school, everyone got a Spanish name. Since there is no Spanish equivalent for my given name, I picked my own and chose Catalina because I like the sound.

A nice *new* pancake. That's the dream.

I absolutely love these insights to the clever minds of ye guys :) Tra to the finest. Well done Sean! 🙌🏼✨ Thanks a mill for the share.

Thanks for the insight! I was actually wondering if Oisín´s laptop was on and if so what he was typing, but I didn´t expect a random string of letters to turn into tra.

That's interesting @Anouschka. Here it was just the first 3yrs of studying English and then it disappeared when we moved to 7th grade. And it was a LONG time ago 😄 Idk if they still do it. Finland doesn't have a colonial past so idk where the hell we picked it up from 🤷🏻‍♀️

English tutor here! I was curious about this too, as I teach a lot of kids who go to international school. At first, I was wondering if this was an old colonial thing. I asked some of my fellow tutors on a Facebook group about it. Apparently, they prefer it in some cultures, as pronouncing names correctly/ the meaning of names is very important there. I don't think it should be compulsory though

I got one as well!

That's a tad disturbing travel of thought.

I am Susan! It was the English name given to me by my 3rd grade English teacher to use in her class. Everyone got an English name. I don't know why..
