I think the best example is Frank Grimes from The Simpsons. I'm trying to give some of that energy to Amber, although despite her whining Amber is still playing along with everything.

I think these kind of characters are often used by writers to deflect criticism. As if to say, "yeah, I know this is ridiculous, but I already had a character point that out, so you're not allowed to criticize me for it".

2023-06-11 23:49:28 +0000 UTCTo be honest, the idea of a character who has such perspective can be really annoying if done wrong. For Amber tho'? It feels pretty damned natural, and her reaction to this got a good laugh out of me. Good luck to her, tho'; I'm rooting for her!
