2025-07-09 18:29:08 +0000 UTCI've gotta say that the idea of Max even thinking of paying a separate agent's fee is silly. 400K is fine for the agent, but he has to go squeeze his ten percent fee out of the team receiving the 4 million, not make the price of the player 4.4 million. Max and Helge's team already agreed on the price for the buyout. Agent's fee comes out of that. Like, when buying/selling a house, the agent's percentage comes out of the price of the house. It's not an extra fee for the purchaser of the home to negotiate separately after going into escrow. The only reason you'd pay the agent EXTRA on top of what you're paying the other club would be to pull off something skeezy...like if the agent was tricking his gullible client to come to Chester for pennies and a greased apple 'cause he's secretly working for Max and screwing the client. (Something that does happen often in football. Like how some South American players have literal percentages of their future earnings - forever - owned by unscrupulous agents...yes, like they are slaves...or...merchant ships in the age of sail? Agents=Yucky, am I right, Oldham?!) And we all know Max ain't down for that. It comes off as even more fishy when you know the "agent" is just a front man. If Max wants to pay 4 million + plus salary to get Helge, that's fine. But he should definitely pull out if the agent (a lawyer family friend who is playing pretend, but who is clearly the father committing fraud) keeps trying to pull a fee from the purchaser...for nothing. (And yes, I get we're all okay with a little bit of fraud to facilitate parents being able to look out for their kid in this scenario...but it stops being a little bit of fraud when he shakes down Max for the Danegeld.) To conclude this novella, Max needs to tell Pradeep he isn't down for doing a meme coin. He's just gonna rug you to pump and dump, Max!! Just ask Caitlyn Jenner!!!
