I’d personally write ‘The Socceroos bloody won the whole thing!’ Even people who don’t swear would do so when we bloody well win. 2024-09-15 10:48:29 +0000 UTCI think it has more to do with how Brooke is directly involved with the club as opposed to Emma, so she feels more like an add on and not central to the story which isn't exactly true. Emma acts as a counter balance to Max's personality flaws while also being the motivation for much of his character growth. That being said, I also think a Max/Brooke pairing would've worked out great. In fact, I was expecting Brooke to be attracted to Max instead of Zach. Starting with the fact that she realized how everything in the club revolves around Max, how he's just as hyper-competent as her if not more, and how he chased off Daddy Star, she should be into Max if anyone. Obviously it wouldn't have worked out coz he's got Emma, but it could have added a bit of tension and drama. I suppose it would have distracted from the football stuff, but could have worked if done in a subtle way that Max remained unaware and only Emma, Ruth and some of the other women picked up on it. Just a few hints here and there that Max didn't pick up on. Then Brooke gets over him but remains as one of his best supporters. Anyway, I don't really mind how it is now either.
