Ted Steel: Literature 20, Marketing 20

Well, the day has finally arrived. Literature has a new sensation. The written word will never be the same.

I refer, of course, to the ebook release of

Enemy Ex's Secret Baby: A Best Friend's Brother Romance

A title so convoluted I can't even say it inside my brain.

Obviously I'm ACTUALLY referring to the simultaneous ebook and audiobook release of Bad Things Feel Best, tagline: It’s almost like he wants her to think he is a monster.

(No need to look those up - yes, they're real.)

You've guessed by now - my free web serial content is now available to buy, and I'm pimping it to you, someone who has literally already given me money, before engaging the general public. That's good marketing!

But seriously, if you're on Kindle Unlimited, you could grab it, pretend to read it with one of those birds that pecks on the screen to change the page, then smash five stars. Or use an Audible credit to hear what Jackie Reaper sounds like.

ebook/Kindle Unlimited

Audiobook

Wait a second! They gave me a sample I can let you watch:

They've already made book 2 available for pre-order, which is clever. Makes it seem like a real series. Which YOU know it is, but the randos on Amazon don't.

Some More Fun Stuff

Signed Paperbacks

Lots of requests for signed paperbacks. You guys are crazy! I'm happy to oblige if you're willing to pay insane amounts for shipping. Seriously, it's mad, please don't do it. But if you WANT it, I'll make it happen. I think the first step is me buying a bunch of copies of my own book like one of those sad authors I used to laugh at.

Oh, and you need to write your own dedication text because I'm scared of doing something stupid also I'll stare at the blank page for 20 minutes and get depressed.

Spotify

Educated Fool made a Spotify playlist for songs mentioned in the Player Manager series.

Art

How about this cool animated cover? There's like demonic mist and everything. Oooh ominous.

AI Fan Art

Have you seen this Emma? I think it was OneAutumnLeaf on the Discord.

Educated Fool also had a go at creating a Jackie Reaper. It's very similar to the guy I based JR on! My wife says 'this is the Hollywood version'.

Recommendations

I think most of you have seen Welcome to Wrexham. Season 2 is coming out soon, and I'm looking forward to that. It's genuinely good. My wife liked it, too.

We also both liked Quarterback on Netflix. Amazing access, and it was hard not to binge it. (We watched one episode a night along with a vegan sausage and a glass of warm water. Don't ask.) My wife shouts 'YOU LIKE THAT' all the time, now. Actually, be careful about watching it with someone that impressionable.

Also shoutout to Sunderland Till I Die on Netflix. I think that was the real inspiration behind Player Manager. The inspiration to actually try to write it, anyway. Some of what you see behind the scenes is so amateur and crazy. I thought 'even if I get some details wrong, no-one will know the difference'. It's really good. Starts in a Catholic church with the priest dressed as Niall Quinn (Sunderland striker). Or maybe he's just wearing a scarf. It starts bonkers and doesn't stop.

...

Um... that's it? Maybe?

Next one of these sales emails will be in December. PM 2 out in time for Christmas!

All right, good chat. Now go out there and keep it tight first ten. Nothing silly.

Eidetic Eidolon

I imagined JR as portrayed by the scouse kidnapper in season one of Slow Horses. Very different characters, but casting-wise, I think he could pull it off.

Richard Carling

You've cracked the top 200 on US Amazon in Gamelit & LIYRPG books and the top 300 in "coming of age fantasy ebooks" which for some reason I find hilarious.

Geoff Urland

Congrats! This series is mint.

Iam

The only podcast worth listening to is Til Death Do Us Blart. You are going to google that and assume I'm joking. I'm not. Go back to episode one. Episode two is even better. And so on. Last year's was mind-blowing. I couldn't stop talking to my wife about it. AUDACIOUS.

Ted Steel

Congrats! and I'm sorely disappointed by the lack of podcast, play, and magazine subscription recommendations.

Geoff Urland

Congrats, mate!

EducatedFool

Wish you all the success coming your way. Your writing hits all the right notes to me. Witty, charming and other adjectives!

FistfullofRoids

Every time I watch a sports program with my wife, she gets mad at me for not being a professional athlete. So be careful.

Brandon Baier

Congrats, Ted!
