A Kind Dragon Adopts You Script

I love this one! It blew up, lucky enough for me, and a I found my tribe of people. The dragon-lovers, wishful dragon-riders, the kids who grew up on How To Train Your Dragon and wanted a dragon ever since. I love dragons with every fiber of my being. I study them, write about them, live and breathe them. Yes, I have a Toothless plushie. And a HTTYD poster. And a Toothless Funko Pop. Don't judge. Just enjoy.

It also is the first script with a real motherly feel. Which, I discovered, I adore recording! It was great to figure that out and explore that further. It was a kind of more vulnerable scripts that didn't feel scary for me. I also loved the sound effects I put into it.

I think this is the first one I used the little ~ symbol instead of rewriting Pause every time. So, that's a change.

Anyway, Enjoy :)

Kind Dragon Adopts You ASMR Roleplay

Sounds needed: fireplace

Who dares disturb my slumber yaddy yaddy get out of my cave.

Pause

Oh sorry, did I scare you? I'm sorry I just... I thought you were a human.

~

Still, you're awfully small for a dragon, aren't you? Are some kind of new dwarf species?

~

You don't know? How do you not know what kind of dragon you are?

~

You're not a dragon. Hmm. Kiddo, I hate to break this to you, but you have wings, scales, a snout, a tail... you're pretty much the definition of a dragon.

~

Well, what were you before you became a dragon?

~

A human. Oh... you poor thing. I understand now. You probably found a dragon's hoard, didn't you? Silly human, and you didn't know that dragon's hoards are enchanted. You got yourself turned into a dragon, now, isn't that right?

~

Sigh

Oh now, don't look so gloomy. And you'd better not cry! The last thing I need is boiling dragon tears ruining my lovely cave floor.

~

Come here. Yes, right here, next to me. Poor thing, you're shivering. I'm going to put my wing over you. My scales are hot, they'll warm you right up. That’s right snuggle up close. Goodness, you really are shaking, aren't you? Poor dear. How did you come to wander into my cave?

~

Humans chased you? Little human tell me you didn't try to go back to your village once you transformed!

~

Dear, dear. No, it's alright. Don't cry now, don't cry. I would have probably done the same. But you have to understand, you're different now. They will never look at you the same way. You're a dragon now, and humans are afraid of dragons. Why, I'll bet even you were afraid of dragons before you became one. Isn't that right?

~

Yeah? No, no, it's alright. Here, snuggle closer to me. There you go. My scales are warm, aren't they?

~

Hmm, what's that? Change you back.

Sigh

I'm sorry human, but I don't know how to change you back. I've never met a human that was foolish enough to go after a dragon's treasure. No offense.

~

I suppose we should talk to Alphus or Shardas. They enchant their hoards at least twice a month. Paranoid, you see. Though I don't for the life of me know why. No human would want to steal a pile of tapestries and broken glass!

~

Hmm? Oh, that's what they collect, you see. What, did you think all dragons collect gold and jewels? Silly human. Dragons feel compelled to collect all sorts of things! Why, I had a friend once whose entire hoard was frogs. Live frogs, mind you! He kept them in little pools in his cave. They seemed quite content, the lazy things. He caught flies in giant traps to feed them. The humans in the area thought he was insane, and I would have to agree with them. Still, a dragon can't change the color of their scales, nor what they are drawn to collect.

~

What do I collect? Oh, would you like to see? I would dearly love to show you. If you're feeling up for it. You're not shivering anymore, which is a good sign. Feeling warmer then, are we?

~

Good, good. Then, come back here, deeper in the cave.

~

Oh, no, don't worry. The humans won't follow us in here. They know me, you see, and they don't particularly like me. Something about a village burning down, human nonsense. Come in, deeper in. I keep my hoard in the back so it won't be damaged. It's much drier in the back of the cave, where it's deeper, whereas it's so wet in the front. See, there, don't step in a pool. That water is cold this time of year and you're shivering enough. A couple of my dragon friends have pools that are heated by the earth's core, but alas, mine are but normal pools of Springwater. It's clean, though, so I can't complain. And once and a while a big fish makes itself at home, so I get a lovely dinner in. And my scales are so hot, it will boil the water anyway if I want a bath. But that's besides the point, come on now! It keeps deeper underground through here, so it will be dark. But don't worry. You can see in the dark now. See?

~

There you go! Being a dragon isn’t' all that bad, now is it?

~

Oh dear, now, please don't cry. Remember what I said about the floors!

Sigh

I'm sorry I reminded you. Would you like my wing over your shoulders as we walk? It's warm, maybe it would comfort you.

~

Ok, there you go. It's not far now.

~

I don't believe I've introduced myself. I'm Serais the Loyal. I was given the name many years ago, in a great war between dragon clans.

Sigh

Goodness, that was long ago. It's been a thousand years if it's been a day! My my, it takes a young one like yourself to make me realize how very old I am! How old were you when you turned, young one?

~

Well, add a year to that, and that's your dragon age now. A benefit to this form is near immortality, if that kind of thing interests you. Don't let it scare you, though. After a while, time seems to speed up for you, if that makes sense. Humans live only a hundred years or so, so each day feels long to them. Whereas dragons, who live thousands of years, could barely tell you what a day is! A year feels like a day to us. It's hard to explain, but I suppose you will get used to the feeling. Time is relative, little dragon.

~

Ah, here we are! Let me light a fire so we can warm ourselves and you can see my hoard my clearly.

FIRE SOUND EFFECT fireplace sounds now

There we are! Now, tell me. What do you think of my collection?

~

Laughs.

That's right. Books! Dozens and hundreds and thousands of books! They date older than even I, little dragon. I have some carved-on clay tablets from the great libraries of the past. I have a few scrolls from the elven temples that existed around the time I was born. And here, my greatest treasure!

This book here. Open it, don't be afraid! Tell me, what do you see?

~

Laughs.

You should see the look on your snout. What, don't you see anything written inside it?

~

No, dear, it is blank. Every page is blank, for now. Now, blow on it. Ever so gently, don't light it aflame, just get a tiny bit of smoke on the page.

~

There you are! Now, tell me what you see.

~

Us! That's right, very good! What're we doing?

~

Having tea? Are we really?

Laughs.

This is a book of the future young one. A gift from a dwarf prince to my great grandfather. It's hundreds of thousands of years old, and my most prized possession. It shows only a few minutes into the future, but those few minutes have saved my life many a time, let me tell you.

~

Now, I suppose we should do what it showed. Wouldn't want to mess with time, now, if we don't have to. That's an adventure for another night, when you're not so cold and tired. Would you like some tea? You need something to warm yourself.

~

What kind would you like, or would you prefer some hot chocolate?

~

Alright, I will make some then. Meantime, why don't you tell me how you found a dragon's hoard? Oh, you didn't kill the dragon, did you?

~

Thank goodness. Then we would have some problems, and I was just starting to like you. Now, tell me, tell me, how did you stumble upon it?

~

Uhuh?

~

Really, really.

~

Well, that is quite fascinating. Perhaps this was no mistake, little dragon. Perhaps you were transformed for a reason. Fate is a dangerous thing to play with, after all.

~

Ah, here. Something warm to drink. If it's not hot enough you can cry into the cup. Your tears are boiling.

~

You poor little thing. It must be so hard to suddenly be trapped in a body that is unfamiliar to you. Though, I have to say, you're doing quite well. You're managing to hold the cup with your claws very nicely. And you haven't knocked over any books with your wings or your tail. Are you sure you haven't done this before?

~

Well then, well then.

~

Are you still wanting to be changed back?

~

Being a dragon isn't all that bad, you know. We can fly, for one, though you'll have to have someone teach you how. It's rather difficult the first time, but you'll pick it up. And you can set things on fire! You already seem very much in control of your fire, since you didn't set my book aflame. I could see it when you first arrived. You're very determined and in control, especially for a new dragon. You could really thrive as one of us.

~

I'll take you to see my friends tomorrow. It's a bit of a flight for a someone new to the skies, but we can rest if you need it. If there is a way to change you back, and I'm not saying there, but they would know it.

~

Prepare yourself, little dragon, for the fact that there might not be a way to change back.

~

What will you do? Well, you'll get a new name. All dragons have dragon names, so you'll need that. Then you could find a cave. You will begin to feel drawn toward something to hoard after a couple hundred years, so don't worry about that now. You could find a flock to live with if you like, I know of a few toward the north, but dragons are usually solitary creatures. Or if you don't think your solitary right now, just wait. You'll find a mate eventually and have hatchlings. By the time they leave the cave, you'll be solitary!

~

A mate? Yes, I had one. Hatchlings too, three of them. They were all killed years ago.

~

Let's just say, humans can be more dangerous than you would expect if you're not aware of them. Especially the ones that claim to be your friends.

~

Don't apologize, little dragon. You're not one of them anymore, remember? You're one of us. If you like, I will show you the lands around here, as far as the wing can fly. I could use a trip. I could show you the sea dragons who live in caves on the shore, and the dragons who live in the mountains, and the ones who live dangerously close to humans or even among them. Then you would decide for yourself where you would like to live.

~

Stay... here? With me?

~

Well, well. I... I suppose you could. Yes... I do believe I would like that. It has been lonely these past hundred years. Even the knights seem to leave me alone. I could use with some company.

~

Yes. Yes, I've decided. If you can't change back, you will stay here with me. You will be my little dragon. I will teach you everything you need to know. I will protect you from the humans and the rival dragon tribes. No one will hurt you while you are with me. I swear this to you. You will forget your human family. I will be your family now.

~

You'd like that, would you? Hmm. Well then. Come here, little dragon. You look tired. Why don't you curl up in front of the fire? There you go, just like that. Tuck your tail in there. There you go. Now, I'll just put my wing over you like this. How does that feel?

~

You've had a long day, but it's all over now. You're safe here. You're warm, and dry, and comfortable. Settle in. Nothing can hurt you now. I promise.

~

Goodnight, little dragon... my sweet little child.
