Short Stories: Eloisa And Daylily

Upstart roadies Eloisa and Daylily attempt to learn the business by diving into the deep end. Icy clearly assumes that, since these ladies are representatives of GenZ, they ostensibly take to all technology like frogs to water. However, as per a stereotype surrounding their generation, they're very easily distracted...at least Daylily is.

Ooh, an ipad. Back in the bad old days they would have been responsible for trailers full of massive amps, speakers, scorching hot lights, complicated manual audio mixers and about a zillion feet of cable. And that's IF there was no fire-hazardous effects show. Get it together, noobs!

Aside: Thanks for that memory, Kae. I hadn't thought about that in far too long. I know that nostalgia breeds fondness, and while I don't miss the chaos, gods damn it, I miss the PEOPLE (RIP Lexa), and I haven't seen most of 'em in 20+ years.

Athena's Owl

Old roadie/band manager. Gods, a tablet or smartphone would have been a damn godsend in the days when I was balancing 18-21 credits of college classes, a part-time job in insurance, a part-time job in radio, handling bookings and logistics for one band, occasionally booking in several others (there were times when I was in charge of shows featuring four different bands at small and medium sized venues), and caring for a significant other who was undergoing cancer treatment, while keeping track of a polycule. The show at Sanctuary that we sold to the literal rafters on Halloween is STILL talked about to this day (I'm SHOCKED, to this day, that the Allegheny County Fire Marshal didn't shut us down, fine all of us, and start harvesting ears as collateral). And people would wonder, how, on a Thursday evening, I hadn't actually eaten anything since Monday at lunch, and just plain DIDN'T NOTICE. Or, sometimes, care. Which was about the time when the band and the 'cule started a rotating schedule to make sure I ate and slept on a semi-regular basis. Occasionally at KNIFE POINT, because....well, goth girls and Rule #9. No, that's not an exaggeration in the slightest.

Kitty might say "Once you go bear you don't wanna share!"

Must Love Frogs

Daylily really should remember the end of that old song "If it's White, say goodnight." And that besides, i'm not sure it's Icy I'd be scared of, but her wife!
