Nov Special: Thanksgiving With Family
Added 2024-11-23 23:12:34 +0000 UTCWhen teen Itzel's parents rejected her, she was accepted by her best friend Riley's grandparents, Wedge and Carmen Black. Gramps and Abuelita wanted Itzel to feel special for her first Thanksgiving in their care, so they produced her favorite homemade dishes: /turkey/ as per tradition, but also Abuelita's famous tamales, and a big stack of Pillsfurry Crescents (which Riley may or may not share). Itzel will, to this day, describe the festivities as the best Thanksgiving ever.
And yes, Riley is a quarter axolotl. We should all be so lucky!

Riley is truly a true best friend and I'm hoping that maybe the misfits of MacKenzie House might at some point host a little Thanksgiving for those without one too. I know it would likely mostly be Clem tho.

Three hours of driving to eat mediocre food and have half a dozen ten minute conversations with people who neither know, nor care enough to remember what's happening in my life, who my friends are, or what's going on that might be significant to me, followed by three hours of driving home. Every year for the last 10 years. Don't know why I bother, save for a couple of people likely don't have a lot of years left.
