HYDRA 1.0D PRO - RELEASED!

Meet the long-awaited update!

Information about build

VirusTotal report

Do not try to use old application settings.
The only data that are compatible are the CO.

P.s. The documentation (instruction) has been changed and reworked again.

____________________________________________

Changelog:

* The problem of low-threaded performance for 5600/5800 has been solved.
* The problem when the user saw the message about the unique processor during diagnostics was solved (added additional check for disabled CCD's).
* Added a function to restart Prime95 during diagnostics (prevent stopping diagnostics and crashing the application).
* Improved power saving during idle, the idle voltage is reduced to 900mV.
* Adjustments to the profile hold function and frequency increase condition (improved overall stability).
* HEAVY mode received some adjustments to improve stability (5950X/5900X).
* Fixed descriptions and added new.
* In some situation " circle with percentages" if it reaches 100% will not cause profile creation to crash.
* Fixed a bug where the CORE CO test would not work correctly if the user selects the cores he wants to test.
* Corrected once again processor evaluation categories (gold silver etc.)
* Information that the processor is unsupported for old CPUs.
* Correction of abnormal frequency drop during CCD CO testing.
* Improved protection of the processor from overheating and other negative factors.
* Fixed infinite wait for profile creation start 7T-12T , 9T-16T.
* Added possibility to set voltages on which to test CORE CO and CCD CO.
* CORE CO testing calibrated, temperature during the test reduced.
* Fixed bug when user could not set protection system to low PPT/EDC/TDC.
* FREQUENCY LOCK mode built in and redesigned (the struggle for additional stability, some of the features are borrowed from CTR RC5 ver.24, some of you remember this build).
* SAFE CO range is abolished. Core diagnostics will not end if an abnormal CO value is detected.
* Correcting the recommended values for the voltage search function (5600X/5800X/5600G/5800G).
* Added FFT for CORE CO test and FFT for CCD CO test (SETTINGS tab).
* Added Timeout of throttling (SETTINGS tab).
* Added new CO controls (AVX1 threshold for ST, AVX1 threshold for MT, AVX2 threshold for ST, AVX2 threshold for MT).
* Added some descriptions for the tooltips.
* The threshold for disabling the game profile is controlled by the value "AVX2 threshold for MT" (SETTINGS tab).
* Added information to the log about VID and FFT values for CCD CO and CORE CO tests.
* Game mode activation bug (sticking) fixed.
* APP priority list bug fixed.
* Overwriting the information in physical memory if the data is corrupted (the user saw huge values in monitoring or a malfunction occurred ).
* Improved system stability when the game load disappears.
* GAME CO offset has a smaller granularity for greater convenience.
* The probability of false triggering of the FMA3 profile has been reduced.
* The monitoring data acquisition is free of additional delays, the avg response speed is now the same as the OC response speed.
* Other minor fixes.

HYDRA 1.0D PRO - RELEASED!

Comments

I'm having same issue. I was able to run successfully finish the process on previous version. However, with new PRO version. Computer restarts immediately when i click diagnostic process.

Rahid Ahmed

Hey, they are 2 versions the free one being 1.0E and the paid 1.1C that got release yesterday If you don't have access use 1.0D pretty solid until the new ones trickle down. you will see what is available to you here in the post section if you look further down Also not needed but I would suggest you do a fresh new diagnostic.

elpuertorro

There is no 1.1E?

fredo

Look further down in post for newer builds 1.0e, well at this point we on 1.1C so might want to give that one if it's available to you if not the last free version i think is 1.0F you can find it on discord or in the other postings.

elpuertorro

I get a note about a 1.0.0.6 update indeed. How do I perform the update?

fredo

1.0F is only available as free version. 1.1A PRO is the latest version and 1.0E the latest PRO Version below Version 1.1

cvzone

I'm using Pro version 1.0D and every time the program starts I get a message that says that I'm using version 1.0.0.5 and the newest is 1.0.0.6 version. I can' find this version anywhere. Is this the same as 1.0F? If I install the free version of F over D will it still be a Pro variant? I also can't find a 1.0F Pro version. Need some help here. Thanks...

mikengail

Agreed a Hydra thread on OC.net would be great. There is a lot of good stuff on the Discord channel but I find it hard to follow all the different conversations going on at once. There does not seem to be a lot of activity here. No posts in 6 days ?!?

Bill Bittel

Why is 1.5 VID blocked from Hybrid table? It's the stock peak VID and I can cool it, so not seeing why I shouldn't use it for 1-2T loads.

Robert Smith

One small feature request. Pause of diagnostics, so an option like "start with windows" can be enabled instead needing to restart the whole process.

Robert Smith

@Yuri Have you considered creating a thread for Hydra on Overclock.net? Would be a great space to share thoughts, ideas, etc...

My CPU is also no longer Gold/Silver, however, difference is very little. I've had a CCD2 problem like yours once. I had to retest with finding the right voltages and that fixed it for me. At this moment I'm hitting 29680 points at 4,4ghz. I'm sure with some more tweaking I can hit the 30k mark.

Peter

Yes, it showed before and after. My Performance took a hit with Diagnostics on this version or my CPU degrading? It says Bronze for both CCDs now (before CCD1 Gold, Silver depending on run and CCD2 Bronze). CCD2 always has been weaker for sure but pretty poor now. Tuned 20950, default 20470. Interesting part is CCD2 is showing Tuned 4030 but Default 4138 but CCD1 gains 200 to 4374. Also shows Stock 5900x @ 21646 so thats more than my system. Temps still good so far.

Any 5950x users used the ''Compare'' function yet on their systems? I'm curious what results you're getting back!

Peter

Yes disable and everything according Hydra manual. But I Will try out the Hydra E version tomorrow

Joni Ollanketo

That would be awesome, thank you very much!

Curve Optimizer disabled(auto) in BIOS?

Yuri Bubliy

I will make a separate profile for mining. I think in next month.

Yuri Bubliy

What to do if crashing when CO test starts?!? No problems with 1.0C version. 5950x, MSI Unify X570, 3800Mhz RAM, Windows 11.

Joni Ollanketo

Mining won't be supported at all!

Alexander Wünsche

Hi Yuri, would it ever be possible to separate avx1 & avx 2 into separate profiles. Using a 5950x for mining with avx 1 & 2 rotation. Really being able to fine tune frequencies for both separately would be fantastic!

Thanks Yuri! How do I determine best PPT, EDC and TDC (5900x)? Guide says to add 30 for Normal OC etc. but seems high? I found online PPT 185, EDC 170, TDC 125 and running with that. Running this now, been using 1.0a because it had best results for me so far. Love the great reviews so hopefully works nicely for me as well.

Hi Yuri! Its been a while since my last post. I was very happy with CTR and have been waiting for 1.0D Hydra to test it again and compare it to CTR Win10 vs now Hydra 1.0D on WIn11. Here are my system specs for reference: 5900x watercooled ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Bios ver. 3801 SMU ver. 56.53.00 64 GB CL 16 G,.Skill Trident RGB 3.600 MHz (Stable :-) ) RTX3090 Asus Strix OC watercooled 2x 360 radiator in a Lian Li O11 dynamic XL with 6x EK Vardar X3M mounted to them EKWB Distro Plate with D5 Pump front mounted Here are my thoughts: For me Hydra 1.0D is after a short getting to know the software and (and that is important) YOUR thoughts behind every setting just the better version of CTR for enthusiasts and "amateurs" alike. That is given you have a basic understanding of what we are doing here and of course the ability to read and understand your good documentation. For me I am getting more boost clocks and instead of consuming ~100 watts in gaming down to ~80 watts of energy consumption. The measurement took the whole night and I went for the find best voltages, too. Great thought also to include a 20 minute warumup phase :-) For you as a reference point also here are my results: Results CCD testing CORE#1 CO: -6 CORE#7 CO: 80 CORE#2 CO: 18 CORE#8 CO: 50 CORE#3 CO: 24 CORE#9 CO: 78 CORE#4 CO: 31 CORE#10 CO: 54 CORE#5 CO: 46 CORE#11 CO: 58 CORE#6 CO: 16 CORE#12 CO: 72 Energy Efficiency CCD#1 4 | GOLDEN sample Energy Efficiency CCD#2 3.85 | BRONZE sample AVX2: The power limit has been reached: 142.3W Voltage you are looking for: 1087mV Best voltage: 1000mV Optimal voltage: 1075mV AVX1: The power limit has been reached: 142.3W Voltage you are looking for: 1262mV Best voltage: 1112mV Optimal voltage 1: 1162mV Optimal voltage 2: 1212mV Profiles: -= PROFILE: 1T-2T =- VID: 1375mV CCD1 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4825MHz FMA3: 4750MHz CCD2 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4675MHz FMA3: 4600MHz -= PROFILE: 3T-4T =- VID: 1375mV CCD1 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4800MHz FMA3: 4725MHz CCD2 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4650MHz FMA3: 4575MHz -= PROFILE: 5T-6T =- VID: 1325mV CCD1 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4750MHz FMA3: 4650MHz CCD2 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4600MHz FMA3: 4500MHz 09:50:27: Test 1 finished! 09:50:27: Test 2 started! 09:50:27: 7T-12T DEBUG INFO: Start VID: 1275mV Start CCD#1 FREQ: 4275MHz Start CCD#2 FREQ: 4150MHz Vdroop: 1.49% CO reserve: -9 / -3 09:50:48: Cinebench stopped! -= PROFILE: 7T-9T =- VID: 1325mV CCD#1 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4775MHz FMA3: 4675MHz CCD#2 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4600MHz FMA3: 4500MHz -= PROFILE: 10T-12T =- VID: 1275mV CCD#1 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4700MHz FMA3: 4600MHz CCD#2 FREQUENCY AVX1: 4525MHz FMA3: 4425MHz 09:50:48: Test 2 finished! 09:50:48: Test 3 started! 09:50:48: ALL THREADS (AVX2) DEBUG INFO: Start VID: 1262mV Start CCD#1 FREQ: 4175MHz Start CCD#2 FREQ: 4100MHz Vdroop: 2.46% 09:51:05: Cinebench stopped! After testing many games and applications I can confirm that (for me) it runs stable!!! No crashes or temps that are too high in certain scenarios. You have earned a big thank you! Thanks to your incredible dedication to Hydra/CTR AMD Zen3 processors can run finely tuned like they were supposed to. Thanks Yuri and have a great day! :-) Greetz Daniel

Daniel Stroh

@Yuri Bubliy So HYDRA's priority is now "real time"? Is this intended? On the other hand, it just works =) Thank you!

Alexander Wünsche

Did you even read this thread? IT'S A FALSE POSITIVE!! Yuri mentioned it again and again...

Alexander Wünsche

Hi, Windows Defender and VirusTotal flagged this file (Hydra.exe) as malicious, any suggestions ?

I gave up trying to understand the technical stuff a while ago, all I know my CPU runs faster, cooler and rock solid. Thanks for all the hard work!

When it happens, no profile switching takes place & the readouts for current core speeds per CCD stops updating

Jamie Godwell

I'm having issues where Hydra gives up on changing clock speeds until I reopen the program, generally locking everything 1-2T mode with all the other cores running slow. I've only seen this happening with 1.0D & I'm on Win11 if that makes any difference

Jamie Godwell

It is not necessary to search for these settings, if you have not made any changes to them by default they will remain relevant. My only recommendation for the bios is manual voltages and disabled or auto Curve Optimizer mode. Don't get on your nerves, it's easier, I try to keep all the default settings perfect ;)

Temps are great! Higher overall frequencies. Stable under heavy load. Nice one!

Peter

Can someone answer this: Are the previous required BIOS settings used for CTR apply with HYDRA? Specifically: Global C-State = Enabled Power Supply Idle Control = Low CPPC = Enabled CPPC Preferred = Enabled Thanks in advance

Initial impressions are very good. Seems I get higher frequencies for less voltage and idle temps are excellent

Rory O'Donnell

Any alternatives that are any different? (IMHO Windows Defender is the best option so people should actually use it)

People need to stop using Windows Defender.. honestly they got better, but it's still a pain in the A with so many apps

My Windows 10 "built in" virus scanner shows me that hydra.exe (1.0D) contains a virus -Trojan:Win32/Sabsik.FL.A!ml . No idea if this is an issue with the virus signatures or if this file is actually infected.

I understand everything in the PDF, except what the dynamic checkbox does. How is it different to enabled?

Michael Coles

Great WORK .Working a Treat

Ricky Campbell

Always did for me but never had a problem, just white list/exclude the exe on your av program also it helps a bit in win 10 when you download the zip right click it, pick properties then click unblock, but you need to white list the .exe anyways.

elpuertorro

+1 Windows automatically yeeted the exec :(

oh no. i just instantly removed everything from hydra 1.0C released cause after i went through all the changes, i could not wait for re-test this one :D hahah. ps: correction: was it reuploaded? cause i dont have any defender issues on my Win10home. What win version are you using?

iNerd

Can Confirm. Defender shows it as Trojan:Script/Sabsik.FL.A!ml

Thanks for the release Yuri. Windows defender is very unhappy with the executable I am afraid.

Thanks as always Yuri. I will report back on any findings with my 5900X!

Tom Parkinson

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the stability improvements in this release.

Shane Allen

Will run it tonight yhank you

Rory O'Donnell

Will run the system tmr morning straight away!

Peter

THANK YOU !!
