HYDRA NEWS!

The release of the first alpha version is just days away (I think it's July 29th.). I don't plan to postpone anything, I manage to keep development as planned.

As I promised earlier, today I want to show you the second part of the diagnostics - CCD. The diagnostics in CTR was not perfect because it only evaluated the processor by the worst CCD. HYDRA evaluates each CCD individually and also writes to the user about the weighted average CO and minimum CO. This is very useful for your own experiments and debugging profiles.

In the second picture you can see that the settings page has got a lot of new options. I want the sandbox to live up to your expectations so that you can get what you want.
Set the conditions under which the profiles will switch, for example AVX1 and AVX2. Profile hold time, to improve performance in tasks with pulsed or uneven load.  Speed of frequency change and more. You can even configure the system inactivity condition (C0 and CAC triggers).

I have not forgotten about the gamers, they are an important part of the project. Next month we will be adding a cache (standby) cleanup option. This greatly improves the gaming experience and fights stuttering.

Much attention has been given to optimizing the application (reducing the resources used) and new methods of frequency control to improve the stability of the system.

So to summarize, what will be in the first alpha version.

* New DIAGNOSTIC (development completed)
* AVX1, AVX2 and GAME profiles with DYNAMIC mode + IDLE (calibration stage)

Thank you for being with me! :)

trying with dark hero patch C bios as well. 3703

Ready for tomorrow/today. I should have a fairly uneventful day so I am plenty of day one testing across a few systems.

James Tiller

Hoping for good undervolting profile creations, as well as compatibility with Argus Monitor/other software. Thanks!

Jason Hwang

I am looking forward to test the CO part, since I am running Linux as my main OS. Cant wait for a test :)

Strange, I thought that the latest version of CTR has better stability than ever...definitely after the release of HYDRA send me the results of the new diagnostics

Yuri Bubliy

You think right. HYDRA is a new architecture and new possibilities.

Yuri Bubliy

W11 is a renamed W10, everything works ;)

Yuri Bubliy

I see no obstacles, this option on my 6800XT is always on.

Yuri Bubliy

ready for some Hydra action. I have been having ongoing issues with the latest CTR's on one particular machine while others are fine. I may have to do some complete house cleaning from reflashing bios to fresh windows with nothing on it but Hydra.

James Tiller

cant wait to compare ctr vs hydra but hydra looks like an very improved version of ctr. @Yuri are you able to test also game mode with and without resizable bar? I noted, since this feature came up on gpus, really many people have ot enabled. I believe you should test it if you didnt. the behavior of the system is not the same.

iNerd

Thank you for your work. Amazing really 💪

Frederico Torres

Willing to test on win 11 and break stuff as needed. :D

Really looking forward to this. Does this mean we should stop using CTR and switch over to Hydra or are these considered different tools for different purposes? Seems like CTR is the predecessor to Hydra and there would be no reason to use CTR once Hydra is released. Am I missing something?

A very limited number of mobile CPUs have an unlocked multiplier. I was planning to add support, but it will not happen quickly. It will take a lot of time for research and samples.

Yuri Bubliy

All default settings need no further adjustment. Beginners don't have to think about it. I try to make everything work just out of the box.

Yuri Bubliy

Will/Is the software be compatible with laptop Zen 3 processors?

LUis Ramírez

Will it also be novice/beginner friendly for those of us who are more comfortable letting the software do all the work so we dont have to tweak things around too much?

Morgan Ring

can't wait to start testing :)
