2021-04-29 18:02:44 +0000 UTCIs there anyway to reduce to polling period below 500 to increase ability for CTR to catch OC instability before system crash.

2021-04-28 11:01:38 +0000 UTCThere are benchmarks that Intel helped create, they prohibit or limit the use of the best cores. AIDA, CPU-z and other benchmarks are non-optimized software. I guess Passmark is the same way.

2021-04-28 11:00:33 +0000 UTCIssues with it not auto-starting and I get an error saying unable to see CPPC core tags. All BIOS settings are as recommended.

2021-04-26 23:18:45 +0000 UTCRC5 for me works well in general, I like especially the usability improvements that make it simpler to use. On the performance side, my 5950X runs cooler and pretty stable at just 1.05V SOC. However, the determined clocks are way lower than previous RCs and so it doesn't come close to performance of e.g. CTR 2.0 RC3. I've played a bit with the clocks, and I can easily set higher ones (like Diagnostic of previous CTRs would recommend), but then I see in-game crashes/reboots. Only mitigation was to lower the clocks but this then again affects scores in Cinebench. Interestingly, R20 scores still are high in comparison, however e.g. Passmark scores are pretty low compared to CTR 2.0 RC3 or say CTR 2.1 b2. Obviously the benchmark logic varies a lot.

2021-04-26 07:49:43 +0000 UTCI actually wasn't able to pass it before turning on CTR. I know that is not recommended, but at this point I'm so desperate that I couldn't care less. On my 5800X and ROG Strix X570-e Gaming I was able to run the same sticks at 3800 MHz without any issues. I thought the upgrade of both CPU and board would let me go even higher to the mythic 4000/2000 MHz. Nope. I think there might be something wrong with the current ASUS BIOSes, because an earlier version (with AGESA 1.1.0.0) did go even a bit higher than 3800/1900 (Strix+5800X). BTW, LinX with CTR crashes after 6–7 minutes; it was 4–5 without it. I suspect the sticks might be overheating, but this is because I always had to push a bit more voltage to them than DRAM Calculator suggested (at safe settings). According to all reviews these RAM should rock, but ASUS just don't like 4 sticks and suck at RAM OC anyway. I wish I had bought a B550 MSI Tomahawk at the quarter of the price of my board and was done with it. That's what I recommended to my friends (and B450 MSI Tomahawk before B550 was out) and the DRAM OC capabilities were in another league compared to ASUS mid–high end boards.

2021-04-25 21:13:43 +0000 UTCWell I'm not sure about the 5800x but my 3800x had very little room for getting higher clock speeds, as it was pretty much maxed out at stock. I got my performance gains by reducing voltage/temps to maximize sustainable clocks. Have since upgraded to a 5950x
Krewd
2021-04-25 20:55:32 +0000 UTCHave you tried reducing the P1 profile clocks slightly? On RC4 I had to reduce it by 25MHz on CCX1 and 50 on CCX2 to pass LinX without errors. Or I could have rechecked my LLC earlier after a BIOS reset... :D

2021-04-25 20:27:46 +0000 UTCI've been playing with this version for a couple of days now, reading all that I can. I have not seen a huge performance increase, but my temps are way better. Running a 5800x, asus x570 tuf, 32gb of 3800mhz ram, 1200watt power supply and a arctic freezer ii 360mm, what should I try tweaking to gain a little more performance?

2021-04-25 15:03:33 +0000 UTCNo advantage for my 3700x "silver" sample compared to some very good energy plan + PBO. System got unstable while gaming even with very safe settings of CTR and all stess tests done. But i`m happy for all users who get more out of it!

2021-04-25 12:25:21 +0000 UTCUnfortunately after much trying and experimenting, I have gone back to PBO using board limits which give me 11300 in R20 with 5950X with no stability issues or WHEA errors after any benchmark/stress testing. I can not complete diagnostic no matter what I change. Yuri, if you want to (have the time) we could do a TeamViewer session as I believe this is an issue with the app - or a fault that only occurs with CTO..

2021-04-25 12:21:36 +0000 UTCThank you! I'm using it with a 5800x and a B550-E Strix but it's very unstable and it crashes as soon as I start Cinebench R23. To fix this, I followed the manual and used P1 OB value for PX ones. It worked pretty good for 4 hours then crashed once more. I mostly played games during this time (SoT, FFXIV). Here's a screen of my settings (I deactivated profiles to prevent crashing): https://imgur.com/a/nuGNI0a All BIOS settings are good, RAM is stable and I have a V-DROP of ~1.3%
Addict
2021-04-25 11:19:56 +0000 UTCThis is due to excessive PX boost .For PX OB set the same value as P1 CCX1 OB. If this does not help, lower the frequency for all PX sub-profiles (-25MHz). On Tuesday I will publish a special version of CTR for newbies. If you find it difficult - wait for her.

2021-04-25 10:11:26 +0000 UTCThank you very much, I used ctr 2.1 rc5 to clock my 5900x. But this makes AIDA64 cache and memory benchmark crash :( some1 has an idea where i should begin?

2021-04-25 06:05:44 +0000 UTCIt is safe, but it makes no sense, by raising the voltage you degrade performance. IDLE is 0.3 volts and 0 MHz (effective), which is the maximum it can be.

2021-04-25 06:04:18 +0000 UTCI tried the Diagnostic 3 times and I got the early reboot + Platinum Sample bug every time, it only went smoothly when I downgraded to 1.2.0.1 Patch A, after diagnostic I updated again to 1.2.0.2 and this is working good but also the "Autostart with OS" dont work, CTR dont start with windows when I restart and I enabled/saved in many ways and order. Im using a Rog STRIX x570-E

2021-04-25 03:46:33 +0000 UTCThank you so much! Works like a charm for my 5900X. Temps max at 75 °C during Cinebench. I wish RAM overclocking was this easy. I'm using ASUS X570 Dark Hero (BIOS 3501) with 4×8 GB Patriot Viper Steel 4400 MHz. Couldn't get any higher (without errors) than 3733 MHz @ 16-16-16-32. And I still fail LinX after 4–7 minutes. No errors in TM5 after 30 minutes, no errors in DRAM Calculator Memtest after 3 successive runs at default settings. I've spent days and nights tuning the RAM without much success.

2021-04-25 02:27:48 +0000 UTCI have Agesa 1.2.0.2 on MSI X570 Tomahawk and RC5 version 15 is working fine. The PC also rebooted on the first diagnostics run and CTR reported that I have a Platinum sample. It went smoothly on the second run. I'm still trying to tame my PX settings. I think you need to NOT be afraid about lowering the values because the clocks would boost to >5 GHz when OB is enabled.
Norman P. Aquino
2021-04-25 02:13:58 +0000 UTCI downgraded to previous BIOS with Patch A AGESA 1.2.0.1 and diagnostic runs fine, no "PLATINUM SAMPLE" reboot bug. I only get the reboot AT THE END of the diagnostic and I get Silver sample category (gold at times), but this is a normal behaviour. Try downgrade your BIOS and run diagnostic again.

2021-04-24 22:48:03 +0000 UTCAlso the reboot and get "PLATINUM SAMPLE" is a diferent thing from the normal reboot at the end of diagnostic, this is a bug happening at the start of the diagnostic and it happened with RC4 and 1.2.0.1 Patch A and it was a BIOS compatibility issue and you fixed it. Now 1.2.0.2 is doing the same bug, downgrading to Patch A BIOS, diagnostic runs fine and I get the normal reboot at the end.

2021-04-24 14:35:35 +0000 UTCHey Yuri, thanks for the great app, unfortunately it is problematic as have previous version been, I can't figure out why. Is it normal for the computer to do a hard restart just after the 5th test in diag? This is about 3 minutes after the diag is started. ALL stress tests are fine I run before, no WHEA errors until the hard restart happens in diag where Windows will log 1 or 2 WHEA 18 errors. I have never been able to get the diag in any version to finish and create proper profiles. After restart, always I get Platinum Sample - it's clearly incorrect. All BIOS/Win/driver updates are done with clean Win install. BIOS settings are changed as the by the guide and I have calculated 1.7% after 'Turbo' LLC is applied. ***ClockTuner for Ryzen 2.1 RC5 by 1usmus*** AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO BIOS ver. 2021-04-24 12:20:41 +0000 UTCYou have a critical power failure on your processor. VRM is not responding and is frying your CPU. The only cause is a custom voltage setting ( CPU voltage must always be in Auto) in the BIOS or is this a problem with the engineering product.

2021-04-24 12:10:00 +0000 UTCYeah maybe, i really don't know what happen, i remember, CTR 1.1 worked fine with my system in the past (or maybe with my x370), but now i try with CTR 1.1 and the same thing happen. 2021-04-24 09:31:35 +0000 UTCJust one thing i'm wondering about, in HWInfo, it shows that my Power Reporting Deviation is at 995% at times (which is obviously past the maximum 100%). Is this of any concern I should be looking into?

2021-04-24 07:17:45 +0000 UTCJust updated from R3 to the new R5. Excellent work! seamlessly scanned my 5900X and set the profiles. Platinum edition, running smoothly at a much lower voltage, so better cooling at slightly better clockspeeds. I'm very satisfied with this edition. Thank you for the hard work Yuri. It's getting better and better.

2021-04-24 07:15:32 +0000 UTCSo is my CPU a good sample or was it just an error?

2021-04-24 07:12:31 +0000 UTCI will remove these words in the next release, they do not mean anything

2021-04-24 06:53:09 +0000 UTCYes, the values for the profiles are a bit lower than before. This is done so that when you start a heavy load the system will not reboot. You can even use a 3800 frequency and you will have the maximum boost. The base profile is just a guide for dynamic system, it's not the final frequency

2021-04-24 06:45:40 +0000 UTCI'm still having random reboots even with the lowest PX values. I might go back to RC3, which was the most stable version for me. LOL.

2021-04-24 05:20:33 +0000 UTCJust do it again. I experienced the same thing -- my CPU instantly became a Platinum copy. LOL. I'm still trying to make this CTR version work for me. I've been having random reboots even with the lowest PX values.

2021-04-24 05:15:49 +0000 UTCHi Yuri, the diagnostics values have been quite low as always, however I know what my stable numbers for RC4 were. Am I okay to feed those into the profiles with RC5 or will it push me over the edge? Thank you.

2021-04-24 03:06:37 +0000 UTCNow is working (who knows what was the problem)I restarted all from beginning.i Get to 5G with High mV 1435 and OB High mV 130 is that safe?and if i can ask 1 more question..How to lower core clocks for idle and low level desktop/surfing etc "work"?now is 3400mhz when is idle but i want lower then that like 2000mhz or 1800 can i do that? Thanks for all your help

2021-04-23 23:06:39 +0000 UTCQuick question regarding my Diagnostic Run. So the diagnostic run for a 5900X resulted in a reboot and then when CTR 2.1 RC5 automatically resumes from where it was interrupted, the diagnostic results say “Plantinum Sample - Efficiency: Infinity”, but the associated values it provides for each profile are extremely low and there is no new Diagnostic Voltage provided in the results to replace the default diagnostic voltage. I assume there must have been some error, as I haven’t seen many/any references to Platinum Sample Ryzen 5900X, unless I missed them in the guides/documentation you have on the Patreon page. Any help/feedback is appreciated! Thank you in advance and thank you for all the work you put into your programs!

2021-04-23 21:45:53 +0000 UTCWhen I got that error I immediately rebooted into my bios and checked. All were enabled. I turned CMS back on (double checked to make sure they were still enabled) and then rebooted. The only difference was me enabling CMS. I didn't get the error again and everything's running smoothly.

2021-04-23 21:22:10 +0000 UTCThis is not a harmless error, it means that Windows does not see the tags of your cores.

2021-04-23 21:15:59 +0000 UTCGreat work as always Yuri! One error I did come across (which I didn't have with the "test version" which was this came up during first run. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Operating system does not see CPPC core tags! CPPC, CBP, Cool & Quiet and Preferred cores should be ENABLED! Also try reinstalling the chipset driver. ***ClockTuner for Ryzen 2.1 RC5 by 1usmus*** AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ULTRA BIOS ver. F33h SMU ver. 56.50.00 TABLE ver. 3672325 DRAM speed 3600 MHz 04/23/2021 13:39:16 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Those were set to "Enable" (and not "Auto" or "Default"). The only thing I could think of was I had turned CMS off in order to get Resizable Bar running (as that option only appears when CMS is off). So I went into my BIOS and turned it back on. Didn't receive an error again. But it makes me wonder if CMS off removes those features? They were "Enabled" with "CMS Off" (at showed, in bios set to enabled). Just find it a little odd this error took place with the RC5 official and not RC5 testing (or maybe testing wasn't looking for it? Perhaps just an odd glitch?)

2021-04-23 21:13:43 +0000 UTCMake sure all profiles are activated successfully, then check which PX preset you are using and which PX OB LIMIT. I think your PX OB LIMIT limits the frequency, just change this value

2021-04-23 21:09:29 +0000 UTCThe processor allows, therefore there is also a boost. You need to provide a normal LLC, otherwise you will have problems with heavy stress tests. You need them if you work in very heavy avx.

2021-04-23 21:07:39 +0000 UTCAll working, so far so good! One thing I have noticed though, getting bizarre readings on Hwinfo, apparently one of my cores is now running at 65,553Mhz! Noice ;)

2021-04-23 20:00:28 +0000 UTCHello.I have a question. How to make 5ghz or 4.9 in PX Profile?i tried to change to that but it always 4800 4850.i set OB to 50 or 100 but nothing change. What im doing wrong? Im new to all this(my CPU is ryzen 5950x)i tried to change high mv from 1375 to 1.4 but again nothing changes when i click calculate.Thank you

2021-04-23 19:35:55 +0000 UTCJust FYI I noticed reading the new CTR 2.1RC5 manual compared to the "big guide" RC4, that it had some settings mentioned in it that I didn't recall from the RC4 guide to set in the BIOS (listed on page 7 in the RC5 manual). I set those up, notably the VDDG IOD (which I had on auto before) to the suggested value and my stability improved. So double check the BIOS settings with this new manual.

2021-04-23 18:23:34 +0000 UTCIncredible work. Just loaded it up. I had a few intermittent PC crashes with RC4 so I'm excited to see if RC5 is more stable for me.

2021-04-23 18:14:41 +0000 UTCI set p1 1.1v 4300 and 4200 MHz. I set Ob 10, cinebench boost 50 MHz, corona boost 50 MHz - nice. I am running prime and again boost 50 and error core. Why is boost also at prime?

2021-04-23 17:37:06 +0000 UTCDude. This release just improved my FPS by about 10-20 in World of Warcraft in heavily congested zones. Whereas once I got around 80ish with a ton of players on screen, I now get about 100. Amazing improvement over an already great previous release.
