Playing through Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX for the umpteenth time, and like any reasonable fan of the franchise, you bet your Azumarill I gave my team personalities and a backstory. You do it too!

As Pepper the human awoke one morning from uneasy dreams she found herself transformed into a Chikorita. This discovery did not as such displease Pepper, because humanity sucks. Being an animate chartreuse aubergine with super powers is way better than going to the office one more god damn day. Bring it on! Gotta catch 'em all? Gotta catch a rock, jackass!

Pepper befriended and eventually married her guild partner, Ladyfingers, the soft spoken and genteel Totodile (who apparently graduated from Lady Olivia's Finishing School For Charm And Ass-Kicking). Their adoptive baby is an Elekid named Cable: she smol, but she be mighty. Together they are Team Crocumber, fighting evil by moonlight, winning Rainbow Gummis by daylight, never running out of apples in a dungeon because, wtf, these hypoglycemic Pokemon should really integrate some protein into their diets.

Tldr: Heaven bless my sweet and sassy Pokemon family. Replaying PMD calms the shakes when you have so much money in Animal Crossing you could buy and sell Tom Nook and his whole organization any day of the week.
