The long-legged species known as mythiks were the victors in a war against anthros, humans and their hybrid offspring. The animals scattered (save a few who sided with the mythiks) and the humans died off. In order to save the hybrid species from the anthros who would see them eliminated for the sake of the gene pool, the mythiks took control of the hybrid population. Some owners are kinder or more abusive than others.

One hybrid in question, a horse named Lorna, was being treated very badly by Maren (left)'s older sister. The sympathetic Maren and her girlfriend Jovi were ultimately able to remove Lorna from the sister's grasp. Now a happy family, the three live in loving harmony.
