It's 1970-something Philadelphia, and Julie Scroff is breaking up with her roommate/drinking buddy/kinda-boyfriend. Ali Hamadani is a second-generation Iranian-American college guy who got swept up with the disillusionment of the times. But now his parents have agreed to take him back and he's decided to bail on Julie's sinking ship. Also I'm pretty certain Ali is Clem's father. Where is he now? I may or may not care.

Few of the characters I write have single-species biology (I'm not saying "purebred" or anything because it has the wrong connotation). I think Mantiski might have had two green mantis parents, but even Agnes, who is all frog, had parents of different frog breeds.

2022-10-21 18:31:59 +0000 UTCYes! Alsesta's father Doradus was English and Native American (I'm still deciding on what nation), and Alsesta is half Japanese, though Clem is not. I had wondered about the paternal side of Clem's biology, and I liked the idea of her sire either being Middle Eastern or Indian. As for Ali himself, maybe he did grow up to be a good partner and/or father to somebody. But when he knew Julie he was barely an adult, full of hormones and rebellion (and drugs and alcohol), and when he had the opportunity to tuck his tail and go crying home, he jumped on it. Furthermore, thank you very much for your compliment on my stylization; it makes me proud! My boars have grown to remind me of something rather Walt Kelly-ish, if I may say so. :)

Also Kevin feels very…real. Like I’ve seen his type as a boyfriend and a husband and neither one he’s very good at. Also the way you draw boars makes my brain light up, I honestly love how you stylize all animals but your boars especially have this kinda vintage cartoon strip feel to them that I just LOVE.
