But where would they live?  St. Charlies, of course!  Have some more characters from the machinations of Liz!

Mavis Korcoran prefers to go by "Kore" (rhymes with lore).  She hails from a family of crowfolk from out of town who run a wholesale shipping company.  Kore is the recipient of casual disdain from her family, as she's a colormorph, and many birds aren't into that (plumage has so much to say about an individual's identity, social standing in the flock, etc).  To avoid stupidity, Kore moved to St. Charlies, where she operates a branch of the family business.  She provides supplies and ingredients for the Metzgers' Holler 'N Dash restaurant, and eventually for 3 Griddle Pigs and BeeBeeQ.

Kore's wife is Nadine Korcoran, a frilled shark who works for Tooth and Claw Insurance (with Valerie, Itzel, and some of our other regulars).  Nadine is a dreamy sort with a positive attitude, always there to flash you a smile (and about a zillion sharp teeth).  It's a common attitude among sharks to live life above petty bickering and unnecessary fear, and no caller who contacts the office--no matter how belligerent--can get under her fishy skin.  Many a furious caller has burst a blood vessel when Nadine genuinely wished them the happiest of days.

Baby shark Merla Korcoran is, in fact, Nadine's much younger sibling.  One thing that CAN anger Nadine is her spacey parents' failure to take proper care of Merla, and with Kore's help, Nadine liberated the little one from her parents' neglect.  The shark and bird duo are now raising Merla as their own.  Merla is a chip off the ol' fish; she's a happy kid, so don't give her a reason to bite you.  

Kore and Nadine were inspired by quirky miniboss villains Crow and Siren from the 5th season of Sailor Moon, of which Liz and I are longtime fans.
